Community, All Or Nothing

It’s easy to preach community, when you’ve never been the one under heel.
Easy to say “don’t be shy”, when you’ve never been the one to feel,
What it it’s like when it’s you, on whom the crowd turns.
How it feels to be the one, for whose blood the mob yearns.
I’m sure community feels nice, when you are one of the masses,
But down here beneath its boot, there are no rose-colored glasses.
There is only filth, and pain, and more of my blood to be shed.
Just trying to survive a world, that always seems to want me dead.
I’m not saying I hate community, I can certainly see the attraction,
I just know when people group together, for others, they lose affection.
For human beings were never made, to love one and all,
So they create groups to help rise, while helping others see their fall.
I don’t claim to know how to change it, I just know it hurts to be a part, or to see,
Because the only community Ive ever cared for, is the big one, called humanity.
