The day started with the rush to get the boys ready for our trip to town and R's dentist appointment. He needed a filling and it took all of about 15 minutes. stryeyz@stryeyz and he were back out to the truck within half an hour of my parking. Once back home J was badgering me about fishing and I told him we needed to get things ready for going, ie digging out the poles, tackle, and finding worms. I spent a little while around noontime lifting pots, logs, and plastic to find a nice batch of worms.

Now that the ground is thawed all the debris on top of the pole bean garden needed to get moved. If I want to plant the garden I needed the stuff gone. Plus with the fires I have been burning in the main garden this pile will do well. First thing I did was lift all my wires up off the plastic and move them towards the pen. This gave me enough room under the lowest wires to rake everything out.

I hooked up the trailer and tossed my old bed liner on it then backed it up to the garden.

I had piles of debris over a good sized area and moved the truck around to get the trailer closer to them.

It took me right on an hour to get all of it piled into the bed liner on the trailer. The yard looks much better now and the pole bean garden is cleared, except the very end which I will rake out today.

THEN the fun began... It seems that the south end of the main garden is still SUPER soft and when I went to back the trailer up the mud caught the wheels and sunk the trailer twice. It took a bit of looking and devising before I found the right path in. There was a small window of solid soil that I was able to back the trailer over which kept me from sinking it again.

With the trailer unloaded the chickens were instantly investigating and pecking around at the bugs. They are not bashful what so ever about getting right into any freshly moved debris.

The ducks made a bee line for the freshly turned mud and their bills were going a mile a minute as they nosed around the mud.

While I was raking UPS dropped off a couple of packages. One was stryeyz@stryeyz's new Om Gym that quickly got hung up in the studio. J had fun winging himself forwards and backwards in it.

R got it in and swung in the Superman pose for a long while. It took him some work but he kinda figured out how to keep himself swinging using his arms.

Today the boys want to go fishing so we will be heading to the lake a few miles north. This evening the pile will get burned in the garden. My ankle is still wonky so I am not running today, but I need to this weekend for sure.
