Another day another grain run first thing in the morning. This time only one brewery had barrels so I stopped at the first the drop an empty.
Then I had to wait for a homeless guy to finish peeing in the corner before I could get the barrels loaded up.
I could have made the 4 barrels 3 but I just went and hauled all four to make it easier not having to load into the bed of the truck. I then headed home as the winds were not right to go flying, plus I had no desire to drive out to the valley.
It was 9am before I got out to empty barrels. I had thought our friend was to stop by with a barrel for me to fill with grain so I only emptied 2.
I managed to get out to pick beans earlier when it was still cooler. I had to finish the yellow beans rows as I hadn't the day before.
6.5 pounds came from the rows and made for 64 pounds from 4 rows of beans.
Cucumbers were ready and we are getting into some nicer production. I got 20 of them with one being a cull for us as it is wonky.
Reinstalled my reserve in my big harness for now so I can use it for taller flights and use my smaller harness for lower flights.
So I went back out and sat down in the heat to pic in the Jade bean rows. They are rather good producers.
10 pounds filled the bucket overfull and it hadn't taken a lot of distance in the rows.
This is how far I made it before the tub was full... maybe 1/4 of the row, maybe.
The raspberries put off a nice little harvest of almost a pound. So good cold out of the fridge.
The squash managed another 6.25 pounds for the day and are taking their time in getting to production level.
I had a monster chuck steak out thawing so I had to get the fire going to get coal. I love pitchy wood for this as it burns fast and hot and limits the embers and smoke.
I was able to get the steaks grilled in time that I could eat then head out a tiny bit late to go to the Azure pickup. It was all good though and it worked out that we stood and talked for a while as most people had picked up their orders. I had one box left for one person but they hadn't shown yet so I began to head home. As I got to the intersection I saw a car turn in at the north part of the separated intersection and watched it park by the rig. I quick turned around and drove back to get him his order.
Once home I unloaded our stuff to the house then got the trailer hooked up and I emptied the other two barrels of grain out.
The barrels all went to the truck and were ready for this morning when I go get more grain.
Then I get home and empty the grain right away, drop the trailer, load everything I need for camping and working at Eagle Mountain, then drive the half hour north to it. My Sunday post is going to be late in the day as I won't be back to my computer for the full post. It will be a full weekend and I will be flying from somewhere for sure.
