First thing in the morning I was out the door and in town picking up 3 barrels of spent brewing grain. When I have an odd number of barrels I have to put one in the back of the truck while the even number of barrels is on the trailer. The way I strap them down I need the even numbers or else the barrels refuse to stay tight.
The 3 barrels got dumped into the sheep pen which they all jumped on top of. The birds attack the piles once I let them out and even the ravens have been swinging in for some.
Lack luster day in the squash rows as I only got 18 pounds for the day. The production does this every year though, it comes in waves.
I started the process of changing out fencing for pallets and managed to get 2 pallets up. The end by the tree made me stop as I have to figure out a spot to move the fence post to. I like the pallets since they work like gates and give me more access to the pen.
I did some rummaging online for fish traps and found a few that looked like I might be able to fashion something similar. I found the old cage that was set out of the way and pulled it out to see how much work it would take. I got some done on it but will be working on it more today. It will be about a 2ft cube with entrances for fish.
Around 4:30 pm I got myself into the pole garden to tie up a bunch of the tomatoes and cucumbers. The beans do okay without being ties as they have insane tendrils, but the cucumbers and tomatoes don't. The cucumbers have the desire to climb but they were having a hard time getting vertical without the help. The ones in the main garden are climbing without my help but they also have fence which is spaced closer than my wires.
The tomatoes plants are getting fairly big already and are starting to produce tomatoes. One of the Armenian cucumbers is producing really well already and has a bunch started. I finished up tying the plants up right as 
Shortly after she got home we made a run for the creek to cool off. I really wanted it after having been sweating in the pole garden for an hour.
My dad was on his way and so we all went out by the pole garden and waited for him to pull into the farm.
While we waited I pulled weeds between the fence and the sunflowers.
He got here nearly at 9 pm and after he ate and relaxed with a beer we all crashed for the night.
This morning I awoke to rain storms coming through our area. They are moving fast and not dropping a ton of moisture but it has cooled the air off nicely and hopefully will suck the smoke out of the air, clear it up a bit. I already had to go fix a leak in the strawberry irrigation line that was blowing water into the air. Today we are getting my dad setup for his stay, Euros semi finals is on again at noon, this evening is Scouts, and sometime today UPS will deliver my temperature controller so I can get that built.
