While out picking the daily summer squash I found the first cucumber of the season had grown large enough to pick. The Telegraph cucumbers have grown much faster than the Summer Dance on fairly small plants so far. Last year I sold 406 cucumbers with us eating plenty ourselves on about half the plants I have rowing this year.
It was a moderate day for the squash with 25 pounds going in the cooler. I've started to bag the yellow squash separately so they will be easier to check for quality when they are not mixed with the other varieties. The bag is also being left open while in the box to try and keep them from going bad so quick. I am still learning how best to keep and store the squash for best quality.
While @stryeyz and the boys went to town I went out to the tool shed and built another mount for my other temperature controller. I use this one for my glycerin crock pot and chose not to fully enclose it. I have it mounted to a piece of plywood that the crock pot sits on. I did find out that my solid state relay is trash and I need to get a new one. Luckily the relays are fairly cheap so I will have them this week.
We spent time in the creek again and made sure to fully dunk. I have been able to excavate a fair amount of the sand so the pool is about 3 feet deep in the deepest. The boulders in the bottom make it really hard to keep excavating but I am gradually making it deeper.
The evening was UFC and holy crap was that crazy. This is the second leg break I have seen this year in fights. Pretty happy that Connor lost but it sucks that it happened that way and that Dustin didn't get a chance to knock him the hell out. Likely going to be a couple years before they have their next rematch as it will take Connor a while to heal, but the insane money he has can pay for some top notch medical care so it may be sooner than 2 years.
Today continues the hot and dry weather and I have to make sure the sheep have full waters, at noon the Euro final is on, my kefir should be ready today, I need to get my kombucha started for the initial scoby activation, and try to get some organization done around the house.
