We are well into the cold mornings with it in the teens every night for the foreseeable future which makes it all the harder to get out of the nice hot water.

The freeze dryer got run overnight to finish off a tray so it took a bit longer than the prior couple runs.

There was a little change to some of the chard from my filling the trays so full as the heat from the shelves got to some of the top pieces right under the liners.

All in all it came out good and I have it all in a large bag ready to be mylar bagged.

A big part of my day was spent trying to get the fireplace cleared out around so that I can finally start using it. The problem being that in order to move stuff I had to make room in the basement which took some time.

One of the celery that I potted up was getting a nice bit of sunshine on the plant stand.

Once the boys were home from school they wanted to go practice with the bows, but only after they did some chores. R did remarkably well for his first time with the bow. He hit the tree or the target with almost every shot. J lobbed some of his past and had to go find them in the brush.

With it in the teens at night I am plugging my truck in at night. Thanks to it being from Canada it had a block heater in it already. I noticed a massive difference in how it starts in the mornings with and without the heater on.

I got the trailer hooked up and the barrels loaded for my grain run that I have done this morning already.

It took a while but I managed to get the shelving erected in the basement which gives me the room to put all our bins of freeze dried foods.

I have to 2 bolted together and today will shim the front legs to push the units back against the wall. I have enough room for 18 tubs on the bottom and nearly as many on top. Today I should have the rest of the basement cleaned up and finally I will get it off my now dwindling projects list.

I have a boat load of stuff to rerun in the freeze dryer before I can mylar bag them but that will all take place after I get the chard and celery all run.

Been to town for grain and will go out to empty the 2 barrels in a while. Boys are off school today and I have no desire to go anywhere for Veteran's day, none of the freebies or discounts are all that enticing. I have writing to do, lessons to accomplish, basement tot finish cleaning, the fireplace to get going, and I have to get the next batch of chard in the freeze drier after I wipe the inside out really good.
