Les gauchers représentent environ 10 à 15% de la population mondiale.
Et devine quoi, j'en fais partie ✌!
Jusqu'à une époque relativement proche, la particularité des gauchers était considérée comme un défaut, voire un handicap! Ils ont été obligés d'apprendre à écrire avec la main droite!
Il y a vingt-cinq ans, quand j'ai commencé à écrire, c'était compliqué. Déjà parce que j'écrivais et je lisais de droite à gauche... Oui oui! Étrange 
Savez-vous que la main avec laquelle on écrit est liée à certaines spécificités physiologiques et neurologiques?
La recherche est incomplète, mais voici ce que j'ai trouvé sur les particularités cognitives et psychologiques des gauchers:
Les gauchers peuvent accéder plus rapidement et plus efficacement aux hémisphères de leur cerveau.
Selon une étude australienne publiée en 2006 dans la revue Neuropsychology, les connexions entre les hémisphères du cerveau seraient plus rapides chez les gauchers, ce qui rendrait le traitement de l'information plus rapide.
Les auteurs de l'étude en question ont confié aux participants une tâche qui leur permettait de mesurer le temps de transfert entre les hémisphères, et une autre qui nécessitait de se servir des deux hémisphères en même temps.
Ces travaux ont démontré que les gauchers traitaient l'information plus rapidement d'un hémisphère à l'autre, un atout cognitif qui pouvait les avantager dans des activités comme les jeux vidéo ou le sport.

A condition que la manette de jeux soit adaptée ... Oui, car quand on est gaucher, ce type de manette rend complètement fou !!!!
Voilà pourquoi je déteste les jeux vidéo maintenant! J'ai été traumatisée toute mon enfance par un joystick de jeux vidéo à l'envers !!!!!! XD
Beaucoup d'athlètes sont gauchers. Ils ont une longueur d'avance sur les droitiers! Et ils ont un avantage surtout dans les disciplines en duel (boxe, escrime, tennis, tennis de table ...) car leur différence tend à déstabiliser leur adversaire qui est troublé par un "jeu de miroir".

Grâce à leurs spécificités cognitives, les gauchers seraient plus créatifs. Ils ont un meilleur sens de l'espace et une pensée divergente, c'est à dire, trouver plusieurs solutions au même problème.
Leonardo da Vinci et Michelangelo étaient tous deux gauchers.
Le monde est conçu pour les droitiers et la vie quotidienne d'un gaucher est parfois compliquée. Voici quelques exemples...
