In 2002 Santana published Shaman with a similar concept to the former work, but returning to its characteristic Latin rock sound, inviting several famous pop, rock and hip hop performers, in addition to the Spanish opera singer Plácido Domingo. It reached the first place on the Billboard 200 and was certified twice platinum, the single “The Game of Love” won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals and got to be number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “Why Don’t You and I” number 8. In 2005 the group released All That I Am and achieved second position on the Billboard 200.

In 2010 the band showed a radical transformation with Guitar Heaven, composed by rock classics covers and heavy metal influence with contributions from famous singers, and which took fifth position on the Billboard 200. However, Shape Shifter from 2012 presents the group again with its usual Latin rock sound. In 2014 Santana switched to the RCA label and launched Corazón, with more Latin music and new guests. In Santana IV (2016) Carlos reunited his classic formation (guitarist Neal Schon, singer and organist Gregg Rolie, drummer Michael Shrieve and percussionist Mike Carabello), debuting 16 songs in which they combine all their own ingredients: voices, electrifying psychedelic blues guitar solos, Afro-Latin rhythms and an uncontainable and exuberant percussion.

In 2018 Santana joined The Isley Brother to record Power of Peace, which contains 13 versions of emblematic blues, rhythm and blues, soul and funk songs. In early 2019 the group issued the EP (five tracks) In Search of Mona Lisa with Concord Records together with a video, and it’s a preview of a full-length album scheduled to go on sale a few months later.
