Hello friends, welcome once again here in this space where I can share the things I do. Today I want to show you a scale model of the F-35 Lightning II Fighter developed by the Lockheed Martin company, this has become in recent years one of the flagship fighter aircraft of the US Air Force, and a multipurpose aircraft used in missions combat, stealth and reconnaissance. There are not many free papercraft templates, so you have to pay in full to acquire them, so I have designed the templates for this model by deconstructing an image as an example. The result has been impressive and very satisfying, I hope you like it.

The first step is to make a template, we look for a reference image and from it we begin to draw the entire structure of a plane, then we take out the most detailed parts. As it is a fighter plane, its aerodynamics is very stylized and wavy, so with the catron it is very difficult to achieve that effect, so we must devise the parts using simple lines to create all the parts. With these simple templates we can build the whole plane.

Once the templates are drawn and cut, we begin to make them on top of the cardboard. So you can see how we have removed the central part and the main wings, then we begin to make the entire fuselage of the plane, both the upper part and the lower part where the missile launchers are included. The shapes are very simple and straightforward in order to achieve more realism while making it very easy.

After cutting all the templates we begin to assemble, with a knife we will make a cut along the lines of the templates, this cut must be precise to help us fold the cardboard better and have a good finish. We put the piece of the fuselage that goes on the top and then we put together the pieces of the bottom. As you can see, the assembly of the plane has been fast and I can say that it has been completed by 70%.

Next we will make the tip and the cockpit for the pilot. To do it we will cut 6 pieces in the shape of a triangle that we will unite between them, first we make the one that goes in the lower part and then the upper part, when placing the glue we must try to make them well aligned. Then we cut two small cardboard rectangles to put them on the sides of the booth.

The next detail is to place the protective glass of the fighter, I used the packaging of a toothbrush that I bought. This plastic was very useful to me because it had an ideal part to make glass. I cut it and measured it and then with the glue I fixed it very well, then I also cut the templates for the flaps of the rear part of the plane and I put two small cardboard strips on the fuselage that resemble missile launchers. Finally we also make the propulsion turbine and put it in the right place.

To finish with a fine point black marker we can mark all the lines of the fighter, this will give it a better aesthetic and it will look like it was made with a laser. We will also make a simple base to put the plane, so we will have finished.

Once we have polished all the details we can finish this task, as you can see the design is very plausible with respect to the real image, while with some simple templates we were able to shape this scale model. I was thinking of making a Mig-29 but I found this one a bit more complex to make, so the Mig-29 will be a project for the near future. I hope you liked this simple tutorial, on how we can transform cardboard and learn how to design templates for scale models, don't forget to comment what you think, your opinion is always important to me. I say goodbye until a new opportunity. Greetings to all.
