Hello friends, I hope you are very well, after a few days without drawing I have made a new drawing to share with you. It is an Owl, one of the most beautiful nocturnal birds that exist, I have only had one opportunity to see one and they are really beautiful and their terrifying song, since ancient times they have been considered a symbol of wisdom and intuition, they always accompanied the goddess Athena. I have made this drawing on Fabriano paper and painted with Prismacolor Premier colors. I hope you like it!
Hola amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, luego de algunos ddías sin dibujar he realizado un nuevo dibujo para compartir con ustedes. Se trata de una Lechuza, una de las aves nocturnas más hermosas que existen, solo he tenido una oportunidad de ver una y son realmente hermosas y su canto aterrador, desde la antiguedad han sido consideradas un símbolo de sabiduría e intuición, siempre acompañaba a la diosa Atena. Este dibujo lo he realizado en papel Fabriano y pintado con colores Prismacolor Premier. Espero les guste!
PROCESS
We start by making the Owl by making a quick sketch of the body, with a light pencil we make soft strokes without marking much, just to guide us. Once we make the sketch we start painting from the head to the rest of the body, we use a blue color for the most shaded part of the Owl, while on the other side we use white wax color, we will also include the lilac color to give contrast to the feathers with lighting.
Comenzamos haciendo la Lechuza haciendo un boceto rápido del cuerpo, con un lápiz claro hacemos los trazos suaves sin marcar mucho, solamente para guiarnos. Una vez hacemos el boceto comenzamos pintando desde la cabeza hasta el resto del cuerpo, utilizamos un color azul para la parte mas sombreada de la Lechuza, mientras que del otro lado utilizamos color blanco de cera, también incluiremos el color lila para darle contraste a las plumas con la iluminación.
Then we begin to paint the plumage little by little with soft strokes, varying the cold colors so that the degradation of the light looks better, we also apply pastel white, which is usually whiter than the normal wax color, this helps us to give more light to the feathers. In the same way we are improving the details of the face of the owl that has a heart shape, and with black color we make the eyes, very strong the line so that it looks very dark.
Seguidamente comenzamos a pintar el plumaje poco a pooco con trazos suaves, variando los colores fríos para que la degradación de la luz se vea mejor, tambien aplicamos color blanco pastel, que suele ser más blanco que el color de cera normal, esto nos ayuda a darle más iluminación a las plumas. De la misma forma vamos mejorando los detalles del rostro de la lechuza que iene forma de corazón, y con color negro hacemos los ojos, bien fuerte el trazo para que se vea bien oscuro.
On the wings we apply some different colors, we put dark blue and navy blue while we mix it with a turquoise green and white on the edge of the feathers, we also make small blue spots that they usually have on the plumage. We also add a little mustard green and light brown, then with a brush we blur the colors, for a better blur we can use mineral oil, this helps to dissolve the colors and to mix between them in a better way, giving us a better result.
En las alas aplicamos unos colores diferentes, ponemos azul oscuro y azul marino mientras lo mezclamos con un verde turquesa y blanco en el filo de las plumas, tambien hacemos pequeñas manchas de color azul que suelen tener en el plumaje. Tambien agregamos un poco de verde mostaza y marron claro, luego con un pincel difuminamos los colores, para un mejor difuminado podemos utilizar aceite mineral, este ayuda a disolver los colores y a mezclarse entre ellos de una mejor manera, dandonos un mejor resultado.
We reapply all the process that we have done to make it look better, the good thing about blurring is that you can start again so you can deepen the colors. Then we make the claws and the limbs and a small trunk where it sits. To finish we paint the background and also blur it so that it has a photographic effect, in this way we will have finished the drawing.
Volvemos a aplicar todo el proceso que hemos hecho para que nos quede mejor, lo bueno de hacer difuminado es que se puede comenzar de nuevo así que se puede profundizar los colores. Luego hacemos las garras y las extremidades y un pequeño tronco donde está posada. Para finalizar pintamos el fondo y también lo difuminamos para que tenga un efecto de fotografía, de esta manera habremos finalizado el dibujo.
FINAL WORK
Before seeing the finished drawing, we must review it very well to see what can be improved, whether it is the application of more colors and tones, or applying a new blur. This is how this beautiful Owl has been finished, a bird that means a lot in cultures, its song has been misinterpreted by superstitious people and peoples, which has led to them being killed for believing in nonsense. Ignorance leads people to commit abhorrent acts, only knowledge frees, you have to respect these beautiful birds and enjoy them when you have the opportunity to see them. Antes de ver el dibujo terminado dbemos revisarlo muy bien para ver que puede mejorarse, ya sea la aplicación de más colores y tonos, o aplicar un nuevo difuminado. Así ha quedado finalizado esta hermosa Lechuza, un ave que significa mucho en las culturas, su canto ha sido malinterpretado por las personas y pueblos supersticiosos lo que ha llevado a que las maten por creer en tonterías. La ignorancia lleva a las personas a cometer actos aborrecibles, solo el conocimiento libera, hay que respetar estas hermosas aves y disfrutarlas cuando se tenga oportunidad de verla.
