Inspired by a poem called Losing Battle by @figuringoutsrn. Started out with the idea of describing different types of sky gazers but instead decided to follow one person through a whole day.

Sky Gazer

A glance, a glimpse, as he hurries through his day,
Looking for signs of bad weather on its way.
No other reason to turn to the sky.
Sunglasses blocking the light to each eye.

A peep, a sneak, hoping that no one will see,
Longing to keep gazing from under a tree.
A wish to be free from a living hell-hole,
But tied to a desk that imprisons his soul.

A pause, a look, admiring the view
A bench with lunch and nothing to do
The warmth shines down, massages the soul,
At least for now, the whole world seems whole.

A gaze, a stare, with nothing to lose
The blues, the reds, and all sorts of hues
For time stands still if you give it a chance
So you can peruse the universe dance.
