Hello Hivians.
Earlier today, I made this wildlife drawing of a cheetah using a white Charcoal pencil on black cardboard paper. This is my second drawing of a cheetah on black paper that shows the reflection of light on the face of the cheetah. As always, this effect was achieved because of the reflective property of the black paper and the artistic effect of the white pencil on black paper. I made this drawing to pratice drawing of fur details using the white charcoal and my wildlife reference photograph belongs to the wildlife artist and photography, Richard Simmonds (Due to the nature of the drawing, special reference photos are required)
Here are the steps involved;
I started by drawing the face of the cheetah from its eyes.
I also began adding fur details to its face
Afterwards, I kept building and adding fur deatils to its mouth, ears and other parts of its body.
Finally, I continued to building the furs and added its whiskers until I got a satisfactory.
As always, I adjusted the amount of pressure I exerted on the white charcoal pencil as I went from the light- reflected part of its face to the dark side to give the effect of a fade.
Thank you for reading and checking out my drawing. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your day.
