Yesterday started off cool and everything going to plan. And mostly it did which gave me time for a little experiment.
A while ago, when they visited, J & A gave me some tomato leather (very similar to mebos). We tried it that evening and were disappointed. Not one to waste, I have turned it into a plant-based pesto with rosemary, garlic and toasted almonds.
With warm sourdough bread, it was greatly improved. Next it will be with pasta. Some time next week. Watch this space.
Although the day started cloudy and cool, it ended up hot, humid and stormy. Summer rain doesn't keep us indoors. On the contrary, we rather like playing in it.
A puddle at the local.
On the road pink. I choose with all the horror in Europe to see pink.
Although, a little later there was a fiery sky.
So we made one more stop:
This is looking over the irrigation dam and towards the mountains.
Then supper: after the storm, after a long kitchen day quick pork fajitas with leftover pork and rain-washed oreganum.
Until next time, be well
