A Christmas stroll

Christmas for me is always unusual or atypical if you judge it by criteria of "normality," but I must confess, although I think I've said this before, that the word "normal" makes me nauseous. My spirit has a certain conflict with what is supposed to be normal, since deep down it is nothing more than a political convention, and Christmas, beyond its spiritual and religious meaning, is no exception.

The truth is that one of the things I value most about Christmas is quality time with my family, and that in recent days I was able to take a walk through the historic center of the city at dusk, as the intention was to see the Christmas decorations in that area of the city and also eat ice cream.

The latter had to be crossed off the list because there were no ice cream stands, only a man selling popcorn (corn 🌽), and we're not big fans of popcorn.

The walk was, on the one hand, very reflective and, on the other, when we were returning, very conducive to conversation about fun trivialities, so we were laughing as we walked through the dark streets of downtown Barquisimeto.

And from that walk, I want to share with you some photos I took of the Christmas decorations in the "Plaza de la Justicia."
