Hello friends of Hive and TBT Thursdays, it's a pleasure to be with you once again to travel back in time together to a night of pure Rock with my old band Teoría Cero. If you have been following my posts about this adventure today you will also have a great time.
We moved to December 29, 2010, days after our presentations to help the victims of the disasters that had left the heavy rains near our city. There was not so much stress anymore, we had days to rest before the end of the year, however, a great friend of us, Gilberto Riera, bass player of the heavy metal band Dogma, had his birthday and it occurred to us with other colleagues, that we celebrate his birthday rocking in a big way, so Jhonatan Ortiz, drummer of Dogma and great friend of ours too, offered his house because it had a large patio where we could play very comfortably.
I lived 3 blocks away from Jhon's house, for me it wasn't a problem to move with the instruments since the rehearsals of Teoría Cero were at my house, in Estudio Cero. Since several people liked the idea, Marco (our drummer) took it upon himself, along with Jhon and another drummer colleague, to contact other bands to see if they wanted to participate. 4 bands answered the call, one of them called Palabras Vacías could not and in substitution of them came other guys whose name I don't remember.
The rock party started at 7 pm and believe me, we had a great time between friends and drinks. That day I could count more than 40 people between friends, families and bands supporting and celebrating with us. Hola amigos de Hive y de los jueves de TBT, es un placer estar con ustedes una vez más para que viajemos juntos al pasado a una noche de puro Rock con mi antigua banda Teoría Cero. Si has venido siguiendo mis posts sobre esta aventura hoy también la pasarás genial.
Nos trasladamos al 29 de diciembre del año 2010, días después de nuestras presentaciones para ayudar a las víctimas de los desastres que habían dejado las fuertes lluvias cerca de nuestra ciudad. Ya no había tanto estrés, teníamos días para descansar antes de que terminara el año, sin embargo, un gran amigo de nosotros, Gilberto Riera, bajista de la banda de Heavy metal Dogma, cumplía años y se nos ocurrió con otros colegas, que celebráramos su cumpleaños rockeando a lo grande, por lo que que Jhonatan Ortiz, baterista de Dogma y gran amigo nuestro también, ofreció su casa ya que tenía un patio grande donde podíamos tocar con mucha comodidad.
Yo vivía a 3 cuadras de la casa de Jhon, para mi no era un problema el traslado con los instrumentos ya que los ensayos de Teoría Cero eran en mi casa, en el Estudio Cero. En vista de que a varios les gustó la idea, Marco (nuestro baterista) se encargó con Jhon y otro colega baterista de contactar a otras bandas para ver si querían participar. 4 bandas atendimos el llamado, una de ellas llamada Palabras Vacías no pudo y en sustitución de ellos vinieron otros chicos cuyo nombre no recuerdo.
La fiesta rockera comenzó a las 7 pm y créanme, la pasamos muy bien entre amigos y tragos. Ese día pude contar más de 40 personas entre amigos, familias y bandas apoyando y celebrando con nosotros. The idea of this night was that each band would play at least 5 of their own songs and some covers to jam with the attendees who wanted to sing or play an instrument. The order of the bands to play was, the nameless guys (seriously I don't remember their name hahaha), us Teoría Cero, the gothic metal band Antes del Eclipse and as a closing the great Dogma.
The guys with no name started the party, they did very well considering that night was their debut as a band and their presentation lasted almost 30 minutes. Then it was our turn, our most loyal fans were there that day to enjoy a presentation of almost an hour between our own songs and covers.
La idea de esta noche era que cada banda tocara al menos 5 canciones propias y algunos covers para hacer un jamming con los asistentes que quisieran cantar o tocar algún instrumento. El orden de las bandas a tocar era, los chicos sin nombre (en serio no recuerdo como se llamaban jajaja), nosotros Teoría Cero, la banda de metal gótico Antes del Eclipse y como cierre los grandiosos Dogma.
Los chicos sin nombre iniciaron la fiesta, lo hicieron muy bien teniendo en cuenta que esa noche fue su debut como banda y su presentación duró casi 30 minutos. Luego fue el turno de nosotros, nuestros más fieles seguidores estaban ese día para disfrutar de una presentación de casi una hora entre canciones propias y covers.
The energy that night was brutal, everyone enjoyed our songs, people were jumping, headbanging and screaming with us full of euphoria, the atmosphere was magical and radiant under the dim light that accompanied us. Our setlist was the same as in our shows and obviously everyone's energy peaked with the song Loco, which always generated something special in the audience because of its lyrics and powerful guitar riffs.
After finishing with our songs we proceeded to play 3 very cool covers: the first one was Die Die My Darling by the punk band Misfits, where Metallica did a spectacular cover and whose version was the one we played; the 2nd cover was of the song Whiskey In The Jar by Thin Lizzy, whose cover by Metallica was also legendary and was the one we based our performance on and finally we covered one of Nirvana's hits called In Bloom. For the first song we were accompanied by one of the vocalists of Antes del Eclipse, the great Pablo Piña, whose guttural voice was incredible. For the 2nd song we were joined by Domingo Zorzano vocalist of Metalfobia and who lent all the sound for the party, it was too cool to play with a great guy who had a long time in the music scene of the city. And finally the audience helped us with the Nirvana cover, literally everyone went crazy hahaha it was amazing.
La energía de esa noche fue brutal, todos disfrutaban de nuestras canciones, la gente saltaba, hacía headbanging y gritaba con nosotros llenos de euforia, la atmósfera era mágica y radiante bajo la escasa luz que nos acompañaba. Nuestro setlist era el mismo de las presentaciones en eventos y obviamente la energía de todos llegó a tope con la canción Loco, la cual siempre generaba en el público algo especial por su letra y poderosos riffs de guitarra.
Luego de terminar con nuestras canciones procedimos a tocar 3 covers muy geniales: el primero fue Die Die My Darling de la banda de punk Misfits, en donde Metallica hizo un cover espectacular y cuya versión fue la que tocamos; el 2do cover fue de la canción Whiskey In The Jar de Thin Lizzy, cuyo cover de Metallica fue legendario igualmente y fue en el que nos basamos para tocar y finalmente hicimos el cover de uno de los éxitos de Nirvana llamado In Bloom. Para la primera canción nos acompañó uno de los vocalistas de Antes del Eclipse, el gran Pablo Piña, cuya voz gutural era increíble. En la 2da canción nos acompañó Domingo Zorzano vocalista de Metalfobia y quien prestó todo el sonido para la fiesta, fue demasiado genial tocar con un grande que tenía mucho tiempo en la escena musical de la ciudad. Y por último el público nos ayudó con el cover de Nirvana, literalmente todos enloquecieron jajaja fue alucinante.
In the path of a band always appear special people that motivate to continue doing what we do; what we do not know is that these people can transcend in many aspects. Luisa is the girl in the photo, a great friend who always accompanied us to the shows she could attend since she lived far away, she was the cousin of Jhon, the owner of the house where we played and she made for us some bracelets woven with the name of the band, they were part of those amulets that made us give the best of us, in fact if you detail this video and the previous ones I was already wearing it. This part I had not told because I had no pictures with her but for this opportunity we did not miss the opportunity to take a picture. The guy in the picture, who I talk to, is called Jose Sanz and guess what, he was a member of the band, only that none of us knew it at the time hehehe because that happened later. Another curious fact is that in the audience was Jhon's cousin, a guy named Kelvin who also joined the band later, but I won't go any further, you will know about it soon.
En el camino de una banda siempre aparecen personas especiales que motivan a seguir haciendo lo que se hace; lo que no sabemos es que esas personas pueden trascender en muchos aspectos. Luisa es la chica de la foto, una gran amiga que siempre nos acompañaba a las presentaciones que podía asistir ya que vivía muy lejos, era la prima de Jhon, el dueño de la casa donde tocamos y ella hizo para nosotros unas pulseras tejidas con el nombre de la banda, eran parte de esos amuletos que nos hacían dar lo mejor de nosotros, de hecho si detallan este video y los anteriores yo ya la estaba usando. Esta parte no la había contado porque no tenía fotos con ella pero para esta oportunidad no desaprovechamos en tomarnos una foto. El chico de la foto, con quien hablo, se llama José Sanz y adivinen, el fue un miembro de la banda solo que ninguno lo sabía en el momento jejeje porque eso pasó después. Otro dato curioso es que en el público estaba el primo de Jhon, un chico llamado Kelvin quien también llegó a la banda posteriormente, pero no adelantaré más, pronto sabrán de ello.
That 2010 was an incredible year for me, to have formed a rock band was a dream I had since my last years of school, I just didn't know how to sing or play; it was during my college years that I learned to play guitar and write songs.

Ese 2010 fue un año increíble para mi, haber formado una banda de rock era un sueño que tenía desde mis últimos años de escuela solo que no sabía cantar ni tocar; fue durante mis años universitarios que aprendí a tocar guitarra y a escribir canciones.
Esta velada rockera duró hasta el día siguiente, nos divertimos muchísimo y nuestros oídos tuvieron una buena dosis de música gracias a las otras bandas. Mil gracias por haberme acompañado una vez más amigos, muchas bendiciones para todos 🙏❤️... Nos vemos pronto en otro TBT 👍… You Rockkkk!!! 👊😎🔥🎙️🎸🎶📸❤️🌟🍻💥💫💯
