"I'll leave you to entertain the rabbit," the girl said, pulling on her coat.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You'll see," the girl said, as she closed the door.

Rabbit?" I thought. What rabbit? The office was empty apart from a desk and a drawer unit. I opened the drawer unit, but no rabbit was contained therein. There was no sign under the desk either. I unlocked my briefcase and pulled out my laptop.

I wasn't sure what my job was. The girl hadn't told me, she'd just met me in reception taken me to the office and told me to "entertain the rabbit."

Perhaps it was some kind of euphemism.

There was a knock at the door. "Come in!" I called. The door swung open and I was surprised to see a small rabbit, chewing a carrot. "What's up doc?" I said, chuckling.

"Heard that one before," the rabbit said, still chewing his carrot. "You are going to have to do better than that, mate."

I almost fainted.
