Salvation is our birth spiritually in to the family of God.
Whoever is born of God receives Christ, this is not done by our efforts but by the will of God,this is explained in John 1:12-13.
This spiritual birth does not transform our looks but it transforms our spirit thereby giving us God's nature.
We become new creations when we accept Christ and this is seen in 2 Corinthians 5:17.
The rules that guides reproduction also applies to spiritual birth, parents and children have the same characteristics.
We are born of God in His nature, and this gives us the same spiritual characteristics with Him, but we are not His equal.
Our heavenly nature is confirmed in John 10:34
Salvation means to be reborn into a life that has been transformed by God and to inherit His heavenly essence.
