Aurelia received an email this morning that said she came in second place in the photography competition. The email also said that she had also received a reward of $10,000. She could spend this reward on a credit card, which was also being sent to her by the bank.
Aurelia, being a poor girl from a rural background, was happy to know about the amount of this prize. Aurelia immediately planned how to spend the money she was going to receive in her bank account as a reward.
The same afternoon, she received a credit card delivered to her by the courier. Aurelia checked her account and saw a limit of $10,000. Aurelia hesitated a bit, as she had never used a credit card before.
She thought that the reward money had already arrived in her account, so she spent $3,800 on purchases through her account the same day.
The next week, she received an email from the bank that her account had a balance to pay of about $4000 with interest.
In response to the email, she wrote to the bank, asking that they kindly deduct the money from the $10,000 she had received as a prize. The bank informed her that she did not get any amount from the reward. Poor Aurelia was cheated and had to deposit the money in the bank.
Now she knew that the reward was fake. She was motivated to shop at that shopping site. But she had nothing to prove them wrong.
