Hello, wonderful hivers and my dear friends. I hope you guys are already having a great weekend and a good night's rest. Well, I've been stuck with so many activities in school but not enough to miss doing my assignment. At least, I have about some minutes to the close of this particular task馃槄
So, if you've been following my posts, you'll know that this is my third task to be completed as a newbie in the amicable initiative anchored by @starstrings01 and it comes with a couple of questions that I am supposed to answer. It is about Dapps! What I know about the term and what I think.
What is Dapps?
Dapps in the simplest terms is a short form for decentralized application. I probably may have come across the word several times but I never really bothered to know more about it except for the surface meaning one could derive from it. Well, not until I became a blogger here on hive.
At the moment, I understand that Decentralized applications, stores data in a decentralized database and uses decentralized computing resources to work and I know a few Dapps on a hive that are working very fine.
Hive Dapps that I know:
As a newbie on hive, I was advised to start with the regular hive.blog. It is a site where one is being redirected to after an immediate sign up on hive(that's if you used the site which I know most people use). I think the site is cool and easy to navigate through especially when you have less questions and work to do on the platform. Although, not all notifications pop on on the notification bar, I would still be encouraged to use it.
In a matter of two weeks, I got introduced to using the Ecency app after joining their discord channel. The Ecency app is a great app that comes with a lot of rewards, although I realize that the app has bugs to fix every now and then but the site works perfectly. I use it to publish sometimes and with it, I've made my highest engagements.
Peakd.com is another hive dapp that I got interested to use when I joined @theterminal. Thanks to
@brittandjosie who guided me all through and today I can use the site without worry. Peakd.com has a very cool interface and it lets you see a lot of things that other hive Dapps don't show such as the tokens people reward you with and your overall account information and growth. I love the site because I can easily edit my work without stress, make drafts and scheduled posts for future days.
3speak is no doubt a cool site for uploading videos. I came across it during the #hiveisalive challenge and I think I would advise anyone interested to make videos to hive to use it because it's a known fact that other Dapps cannot upload videos.
My favorite Dapp?
This is the part where I am reluctant to answer because honestly, there are a lot of features that come with using each app and it makes it difficult to choose a favorite. But since I am being asked, I would say the Ecency app is my favorite. I have come to love the app not just because it rewards me for every action, but because the team is very hardworking towards the improvement of the app. They always have an updated version of the app and the entire team work towards upgrading the app for easy access.
By logging in on the app, I get points, as well as commenting, posting, and reblogging posts. The points earned sum up to a reasonable amount(150 minimum) and are used to promote my post for a wider audience and this in turn attracts votes so I would recommend anyone to use the app.
What Features I want to see added to the Ecency app?
There are not much issues I experience with using the app but I would really love if the app is upgraded in such a way that bugs don't have to affect the app often, making it crash at critical times. I would also love for the app to be as fast as Peakd.com because I noticed that @ecency is slow in performing some actions. Lastly, I look forward to the Ecency team creating means by which users can see the various tokens they earn on hive.
I hope all these features are put in place in proper time. Thanks for reading my blog.
Special thanks to @tripode and
@starstrings01 for supporting this initiative. Have a blessed day.
