I met someone today who gave me a little hope,
Gave me words of wisdom, to help me cope.
He was so kind and sweet, he told me how beautiful I was,
He offered to help me, simply just because.
He said, he believes that anything he does,
God will take care of all his needs because,
He said God first, family and then work,
He was so sincere, with a little quirk,
He talked about how a man should treat a lady,
And he prayed God would send the perfect man for me.
He told me not to spoil a man too much,
Because then they take for granted what you do and such,
I thought that is my problem, I treat a man like a king,
But the same attention, to me the man don’t bring,
He told me that if I needed anything to give him a call,
He gave me his card, this man sweet man kind and tall,
My friends have all told me I deserve someone who truly cares,
Someone that in my hour of need, he won’t run scared,
They told me I deserve someone who will be honest and loyal,
I need someone who would love me like a Queen Royal.
This man gave me hope as I see they are out there,
A man who is honest, true and really cares,
He said if a man loves you he will do whatever it takes,
And if a man doesn’t, he’s making a big mistake.
I have been told all this, by lady friends of mine,
But to hear it from a man was sweeter than divine,
It was encouraging to hear such compliments,
Like an angel to me today, a little prayer answered sent.
It’s been a heartbreak lately, feeling rejected for no reason at all,
And then God sends a sweetheart, if I needed anything to call.
