There is a time to be born and also a time to die. This actually should motivate us to live a responsible and impartful life worthy of emulation and of good rememberance. As it is good for people to speak good of a person while he or she is alive, so also it ought to be after death. One of the most painful experience of life is the demise of a loved one especially a close family member. I experienced such about 7 years ago when the immediate younger brother of my dad died.
Death they say is inevitable and it was so painful to lose this my uncle to the "cold hands of death" after several attempts and efforts to save his life. Right from my childhood i got to know him because he and his family do come around every festive period most especially that of the December period. He stays in the northern part of my country whereas i and my parents stays in the west. Seeing him and his family is like an annual family reunion and i remembered how he used to buy us different things while coming then.
Out of all my dad's siblings, he is the one so close to us who we easily relate with compared with the rest. He is a dedicated man both to the things of God and also to his work as he is very diligent and skilful with his work as a furniture maker. I remembered checking some of my dad's photo album and saw his photographys snapped at his work place. In addition, his tall and robust physique coupled with his characteristic way of speaking is so unforgettable.
I learnt from him what creativity and diligence can bring out in a man even outside his nativity. Also, i learnt from him the power of love amidst family and keeping the unity of oneness in a family. My father still express grief over his demise though he has overcomed it because he loved him so much and same with we children. I remembered how he used to buy us fruits and foods that are common in the north than in the south, i mean quality ones that even when he traveled back, we are still busy enjoying ourselves with them.
After his demise, festives has not really been as it used to be. He was lately diagnosed of a liver related disease condition and after undergoing treatments with necessary care, he latter gave up the ghost. Its good to be good indeed because the testimonies about him even after death is a good one and worthy of emulation. The beauty of life isn't the longevity or how brief it is even though we pray for a long life, but more importantly in how impartful it is. Today's event is tomorrow's history and even though we can't satisfy every person, it is still good we strive to do our best to live in peace and has a good testimonies which generations unborn can benefit from that legacy.
