FROM SACRIFICE TO SCALE-THROUGH: THE NOVEL DISCOVERY OF A CURE
Life is all about sacrifices and we all pay sacrifices in one way or the other for the things we love, value or cheerish. Some sacrifices may not be so-to-say easy now but it is really worth it. Take for an example, the conception and delivery of a pregnant woman comes with alot of sacrifices but it really worth it. However, there is a special type of sacrifice that comes from the love of humanity and genuine interest in a better world which do comes in different levels with a major focal point been health related. We have seen people at one time or the other donate a major organ or part of their body to rescue or save someone's else life.
Cancer is one of the major health challenge with researches still ongoing on a major cure for it rather than the current management procedures ongoing. Even to have arrived at this point we are in cancer management, alot of sacrifices had went ahead especially from the path of the scientists, those involved at the various trial stages of the drug discovery and production etc. Based on the topic, it will be an amazing one been the only person in whose gene is hidden a cure for cancer because this on its own seems inexplicable or incredible. However, going by the condition "if", i think i should be able to make that sacrifice for humanity and for the love of healthcare which I'm an active practitioner and professional right now.
The first reason i will agree to this is imagining and forseeing how many lives this will impact and how deaths this would have prevented. Take for example, we have heard of people saving others from explosive devices even when they are the victims themselves. So, in better understanding of the impacts this novel discovery will be on the people all over the world whether current patients or those undetected, i should be able and willing to pay this sacrifice. Also, i believe that based on progressive discoveries, it may be possible that this discoveries and sacrifice may lead to another so that even, the so-called "doing this all your life" may not be so. One thing i have know and understood about life and humanity is that we like to think everything through even though we have limitations to this but it takes humility to accept this.
Many have paid sacrifices of this nature or somewhat similar which on the long run led to a breakthrough and they on the long run still does fine and good even unto their death though we have cases of the exact opposite aswell. My question is that what seems "not easily replicable" turns out to be replicable. In actual sense, the "fear of the unknown" is the greatest hinderance to progress and success. Therefore, this sacrifice is for the common good not to be done for popularity or something mischievous, but one borne out of love and solid conviction.
