I don't know if it happens to others but I has happened to me a couple of times before. When you applied for something and you are expecting a response from them, still you have not gotten any responses, you begin to doubt if your application went through. It can be awkward sometimes but you know you applied and that's all you can do.
This is why I do not rely on just one application, I do as much as I can because the application can be funny most times.
