"A wide-ranging ambition" refers to having goals, desires, or aspirations that cover a broad spectrum of interests, fields, or activities. It implies a willingness to explore diverse opportunities and experiences, rather than focusing narrowly on a single area. Link
I had this experience when I was younger.
I never really had a specific direction or field i want to go but I kept my options open, to see opportunities and how I will seize this opportunity. There are always a wide range of ambition before us, especially when we are not yet clear as to what we want to do.
Sometimes this things can be caused by confusion but it is good to have a wide range of ambition to pick. This will help your selection to be broad and not narrow.
