Personally, the first thing I am doing to save Planet Earth is by saving water. Water is life, and without it, a Planet is literally considered uninhabitable. I am very conscious of how I use my water, knowing fully well that there are parts of the world with little or no water. I practically use a floating switch for my water tanks, and this prevents water wastage and, in the long run, prevents erosion in my environment.
I am also an advocate for a proper drainage system, and in my immediate environment, I ensure that a path is created for water waste to pass through, and I periodically try to clean it once blocked. Most of these drainages are blocked by humans due to the lack of appropriate disposal of waste, so personally, once I have any waste material, I look for the closest available waste bin and dispose of it properly. I know it might not be visible in some areas, so I go as far as taking the dirt or waste home so I can dispose of it.
Regarding waste management, I believe that everyone should be reeducated on the different types of waste and how to dispose of them properly. Because of my place of residence, we hardly get things like a waste management company, so I always end up burning most of my waste, and this is not proper. To me, waste is supposed to be separated into four categories: compostable, non-compostable, recyclable, and non-recyclable. Compostable wastes could serve as a source of manure or feed to farm animals, and the recyclable waste can be sold to companies as raw materials. While the non-compostable and non-recyclable items could be incinerated or used to create beautiful artworks, and so on.
There are so many other practises I do, such as proper disposal of water, using the exact quantity of every material I need to prevent wastage. Buildings currently surround me, and although not crowded, I plan to plant at least one plant for better ventilation.
