Greetings people of the sewing community, I sincerely hope you are in good health, in this new week of blessings. Despite the setbacks I have had with technology, well with the internet, which has been very poor, but finally I was able to mount or upload the photos for this publication.
I tell you that I have had a fabric in storage for a few years, and although I knew it was there, but I had not taken it into account for a long time, and looking for another fabric, I finally decided to take it out, and give it use.
The problem was that I did not know exactly what to do, because although it is soft and beige, but its embroidery design was what I loved the most, in fact I have not seen it in fabric stores, well here where I live in the east of the country Venezuela. I imagine that they are designs that are made up to a certain amount and after that, they will be similar.
But I still took it out, and although I wanted to make a simple blouse, or a purse, I decided to make the bag, or purse. Something simple and more useful. I'm not saying that I wouldn't wear a blouse, in fact, I would have worn it anyway since it would be made to my measurements.
I made this purse in a good size, something normal, with a pocket on the outside, which has a zipper. On the inside I used upholstery fabric, as it gives more firmness to the pattern.
I used materials I already had at home, two zippers, the upholstery fabric, and another fabric in vinotint color, to give it a little contrast.
My materials:
Beige embroidered fabric.
Upholstery fabric.
Vinotint fabric.
20cm and 40cm zippers.
Thread, pins, scissors, sewing machine.
Cut a rectangle of 40cm wide by 32cm long, two of these are in embroidered fabric, and two in lining fabric, in the bottom I made a semi-circle cut in its corner.
And another rectangle of 32cm wide by 22cm long, for the pocket.
I also cut the strip that will join the bag, about 10cm wide, by the length or edge of the bag, 92cm.
I sewed the zipper for the pocket, placing the lining fabric underneath. I then overstitched the sides, leaving 5cm for the edge.
I place in the center of the front fabric, and when sewing I placed a strip of vinotint color, only on the sides.
Before placing the fabric that will join the bag, I sewed a strip of the vinotint fabric along its edge, this strip was sewn on the two parts of the front and back.
Then I joined both parts so that it will be assembled. I also sewed the lining, which I made a pocket on each side.
Now I put the zipper and the lining together, where I had left an opening to be able to turn it over.
I also overlocked the edge of the zipper, and with a 3cm fold I made its edge, and then glued the strips that will be the handle of this bag.
I placed a beige ribbon at the closure.
And so I sewed and assembled each piece in its place, and finally I used the fabric when I least expected it, how nice... My sisters loved it, how it turned out, simple, but beautiful.

Saludos gente de la comunidad de costura, esperando de corazon esten muy bien con buena salud, en esta nueva semana de bendiciones. A pesar de los contratiempos que he tenido con la tecnologia, bueno con el internet, que ha sido muy deficiente, pero al fin pude montar o se cargaron las fotos para esta publicación.
Les cuento que he tenido una tela guardada hace unos años, y aunque yo sabia que estaba ahi, pero no la habia tomado en cuenta por mucho tiempo, y buscando otra tela, decidi por fin sacarla, y darle uso.
El problema era que no sabia exactamente que hacer, porque a pesar de que es suave y de color beige, pero su diseño de bordado fue lo que mas me encantó, de hecho no la he visto en las tiendas de telas, bueno aqui en donde vivo en el oriente del pais Venezuela. Me imagino que son diseños que hacen hasta cierta cantidad y después, serán unas similares.
Pero igual la saque, y aunque queria hacer una blusa sencilla, o un bolso, decidí por hacer el bolso, o cartera. Algo sencillo y de mayor utilidad. No digo que no me pondria una blusa, de hecho, igualmente me la hubiera puesto ya que sería hecha a mi medida.
Esta cartera la hice de buen tamaño, algo normal, con un bolsillo por fuera, que lleva un cierre. Por dentro usé tela de tapicería, ya que da mayor firmeza, al patrón.
Usé materiales que ya tenia en casa, dos cierres, la tela de tapiceria, y otra tela de color vinotinto, para darle un poco de contraste.
Mis materiales:
Tela beige bordada.
Tela de tapiceria.
Tela vinotinto.
Cierres de 20cm y de 40cm.
Hilo, alfileres, tijera, maquina de coser.
Corte un rectangulo de 40cm de ancho por 32cm de largo, de estos son dos en tela bordada, y dos en tela de forro, en la parte debajo le hice un corte semi circulo en sus esquina.
Y otro rectangulo de 32cm de ancho, por 22cm de largo, para el bolsillo.
Tambien corte la tira que va unir el bolso, de unos 10cm de ancho, por el largo o borde del bolso, 92cm.
Cosí el cierre para el bolsillo, colocando la tela de forro por debajo. Luego le hice una sobre costura a los lados dejando 5cm para el borde.
Coloco en el centro de la tela del frente, y al coser le coloque una tira de color vinotinto, solamente en los lados.
Antes de colocar la tela que unira el bolso, le cosi por su orilla un sesgo de la tela vinotinto, esta tira la coso en las dos partes del frente y posterior.
Despues uni ambas partes para que se vaya armando. Igualmente cosi el forro, los cuales le hice un bolsillo en cada lado.
Ahora le coloco el cierre y asi de una vez uno con el forro, donde habia dejado una abertura para poder voltear.
Tambien le hice su sobre costura por todo el borde del cierre, y con un doblez de 3cm le hice su borde, para luego pegar las tiras que seran el asa de este bolso.
En el cierre le coloque una cinta de adorno de color beige.
Y asi fui cosiendo y armando cada pieza en su lugar, y por fin usé la tela cuando menos lo esperaba, que bien... A mis hermanas le encantaron, como quedó, sencillo, pero bonito.
