Will digital technologies kill libraries and our history?

Have you heard of the term "The Digital Middle Ages" ?
This is when the methods of storing information gradually become ineffective. All this increases the likelihood of losing something important left by our ancestors. After all, the safety of important information began to worry not in recent years, but from the very beginning of the development of the Internet.
Sounds a little scary, doesn't it? After all, today the era of high technologies has already begun, and each of us has a lot of ways and gadgets that store a huge amount of information.

Gradually, archives, albums and print editions are replaced by electronic ones. In order to read a book or find the necessary information, we no longer need to go to the bookstore or arrange a subscription to the library, as our mothers did. Now just click on the icon on our smartphone and everything you need will appear right there. When we became mobile, the libraries went into the background.

I admire all the advantages of artificial intelligence and do not belittle the possibilities of a 3D printer in terms of human comfort and education. And I believe that without people, artificial intelligence will become another useless invention of mankind.

Previously, many believed that the best advice can only give people. But today is different. Technologies themselves evaluate and select recommendations based on our requests and they do it no worse than a living person.

I do not believe that libraries and information will disappear. They only change their usual form.

Already today, libraries are not a quiet reading room, but a place where people spend themed evenings, play board games and complete quests. People come together to share experiences, have fun and learn something. Gadgets and technologies get bored with time and we often feel lonely in this information space. People need to be physically somewhere and with someone in order not to be completely lost in this new world.
