I told ya I have more of those. This is my oldest Gymnocalycium type of cactus I have. I went to look for the oldest photos of this little guy I have and it turns out I have it for almost 3 years already. It didn't grow tremendously lots, but I am happy I didn't kill it like some others.

Gymnocalycium anisitsii

I still can't figure our what is it's name. Is it Damsii or anisitsii? I find plants looking like this under both names.
It is very pretty nevertheless, but it would be nice to know.

Some info: It is native (both of them actually) to Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil and they do prefer more shaded area and a bit more moisture than your typical spiky cactus. I noticed that on mine too. I kept it in summer spot and it turned very light green, almost yellow. Now I keep it under the shade of another plant and it is getting it's lovely deep green back. In winter, due to cold it will turn more purple. A true chameleon :)

And this year I actually manage to smell it! I can't remember if I did sniff it last time it bloomed, or there was no fragrance for whatever reason, but this year it smells like lilacs! Not intensive. I had to get really close.. but it does have a very nice fragrance!

Currently I have 6 Gymnocalycium types where 3 of them are definitely pink, two didn't bloom yet, and for now only one white. Gorgeous, gorgeous white! Sparkly delicate petals with darker grey tips. And the flower is really big :)

HERE is a post from 2 years ago when it was also in bloom. Much smaller, much greener, still in the regular 5 cm pot. Now it is growing in 8 cm one :)
