Pirogov Boulevard in Vologda is located in the city center. The street starts from the embankment of the Vologda River in the area of the old pier, crosses several main streets and abuts Chekhov Street.
In the summer of 2020, the reconstruction of the boulevard began.
I once filmed these trees. It was a dark place. There was no lighting, and cars were randomly parked between the willows.
At first I was upset that this gloomy place was somehow modified, but when I got spectacular photos, I loved these innovations.
With the advent of illumination, the gloom was gone, but the trick of the willows remained - the rhythm of their trunks.
After the opening to this day, many people walk here in the evenings.
Local residents praised the fashionable renovation.
The boulevard is completely pedestrianized.
The movement of cars after the reconstruction was completely excluded. Only in a couple of places there were arrivals to the courtyard.
There are both art objects and recreation areas.
Pirogov Boulevard entered the top three public spaces of 2020 according to the Afisha Daily - it took second place!
The street has a length of about a kilometer and it can be easily walked from beginning to end, and then you will gladly want to come back.
There is one traffic light pedestrian crossing on the street.
I have been there several times in the afternoon and evening and will gladly find myself there again.
