Lately I've been thinking a lot about everything. Thoughts completely unrelated to photography come to mind. Sometimes it seems to me that photography is not the most important occupation in my life. Well, judge for yourself, that can I give a masterpiece to the world, when everything around has been filmed a hundred times. I have repeated this and will always repeat it as a basic rule for any photographer: there is no such subject in the world that would not be captured.
So what am I doing in this world then? Creative people often ask this question. Yes, there are unique personalities who give the world masterpieces, but I'm...Can I really come to world fame or my goal is simpler - to be the duty photographer of some small area. But since I have such thoughts, it is not so simple here. Perhaps I came to this on my own, perhaps they helped me, but since the circumstances turned out that way, then everything is a little more complicated than just photography.
Photography for me is now a profession and main income. There was a time when photography was a hobby for me and I clearly excelled in it. But it turned out that the hobby turned into the main activity. This suggests a counterbalance, that is, what has now become a hobby, what have I replaced instead of a photo? After all, it cannot be that the place of the hobby has become empty. I believe that a parallel hobby has become the study of the...life.
Just like this. This is the most interesting and rewarding hobby that a person can ever come to. And the work, it became an accompanying one. It feels like I rethink photography. Well, I mean, I changed my mind, survived, got taller, climbed too far. No, I didn't win at photography, I didn't become a super expert, but I learned the basics. Unfortunately for someone who is just starting to photograph and knows the basics, these are not basics that I learned. In any business, we all start from the basics, then we complicate everything to the point of impossibility, and then we simplify again and highlight the main thing from everything we have learned. So I singled out the essence for myself.
I have not yet collected everything into a single whole. It has all been said more than once and is scattered over many of my posts, but someday I must collect this essence and tell about it. The essence of photography. Now I am doing the same, but with life. I am looking for its essence, the foundations, I highlight the main thing, but not what is taught at the very beginning of the path. I'm trying to go much deeper.
The photography will stay with me for a long time, perhaps for a lifetime. She helps me to form thoughts, with the help of photos I get to know some aspects of life in general. So with any creative person: painting, music, art, dance, photography - these are all guides to another dimension, portals.
Photography is inherently material. But the process of its creation is already a spiritual level. It doesn't matter what you created, the main thing is what you thought and experienced at that time. Yes, the result itself is important for someone. It also has a right to exist, but in the material world, for material people and their values. Everything else is important only for yourself. No one will be interested in your story about some blurry photo that has no artistic value. But it can also be important to you as a guide. It is better to keep such photos only at home, although there are communities that share this and publish something like that. Never understood such pictures. There are actually many of them, but they are meaningless to the rest. This is the world of only one person and he cannot become the world of another. I almost always show photographs from the public world, at least for the majority.
But the catch is different: if this photograph, which I showed you, already exists, then it is my world. It turns out that my world is available to everyone. Or is the whole world available to me?
This post presents a selection of reportage photos taken between 2016 and 2019. But I think these photos are timeless.
This was taken by me from a folder on my computer called "What if".
I believe that the book can already be published. But no one has told me about this yet.
The only joy is flipping through the pictures from this folder. No one postcard landscape can replace this everyday reality! By what photos in the distant future will our descendants judge our era? Not the coolest landscapes, but ordinary life photos! Checked on myself.
I would like to finish the post, but the desire to insert a picture into the text is irresistible...
