I got acquainted with the documentary landscape five years ago. Then I began to study reportage and documentary photography. Any photographer who shoots in these genres must have such landscapes.
There is a separate area where such landscapes are shot in large format. But these are more documentary enthusiasts than reporters.
For a long time I have not looked at photographers who shoot photo collages, postcard retouched views or assemble multi-row panoramas.
I am still afraid to shoot many of plot, because I still have a dependence on the opinions of others.
It often seems to me that it will not be interesting to the viewer.
But this is interesting to me! This is more important!
And then I leaf through the Instagram feed and see something similar to what I did not take off.
I believe that in real photography it is important not to miss that response, that reaction to reality, in order to have time to capture it.
When I shoot courtyard spaces, they turn out to be a little more impersonal than a documentary landscape.
By the way, I made a big circle, passing along the borders of two micro-districts, and returned again to those places that will soon be modified.
The documentary landscape once bordered on graphics for me.
This genre, in principle, like all other genres, can overlap with others.
There can often be people in such a landscape.
But the person in the documentary landscape will be portrayed as a small figure, and not as in street photography - up closer.
I have such landscapes, it turns out, a lot!
But not all of them are documentary!
Here you need to figure out which of them is which and which one carries the message.
But the best thing is to just go and shoot, not like me - to talk about genres. Although I do both...
