Can a wool dress be sexy? Hell yes if you use Stine’s Oh My Figure -dress pattern.

I saw this dress on Instagram last year when she was still writing the pattern in Danish, then translated in German, and after a painstakingly long wait it was released in a language I understand; English.

I bought the pattern immediately and ordered the yarn too. I didn’t use the same type of yarn as specified in the pattern, but a bit thicker one in 100% wool instead of a bamboo, mohair and silk mix.

I already knew going into this that I am going to do several of these dresses, and probably just a top too, maybe a skirt, this first one is basically just to get familiar with the pattern.

This pattern and Stine’s work is really different from most knitwear patterns and I’m very impressed by the whole construct and how well it’s written so that you can fully customise it to your figure. Obviously making and knitting your own clothes is the best because everything is made to measure, not off the rack standard sizing.

For example I’m skinny but most definitely not petite, I have broad shoulders, wide ribcage and a good pair of hips so it’s not always easy to find nicely form fitting clothes. I’m also super particular and picky about what I wear.

I’m 400grams of yarn in and the last picture is a week’s forth of knitting and even though I haven’t had as much time to knit as I would have wanted, I’ve made good progress. The dress is going to be about knee lenght but I’m still contempating on between short and long sleeves. I’ll probably be prancing around in the finished dress by next NeedleWorkMonday.
