Wherever we are, whoever we may be, it is God’s earnest desire that we should seek Him and find Him

ACT 17:27

That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: Vs. 27

Though He is not far from us. Our heart shall live if we seek God.

PSALM 69:32

The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God. Vs. 32

This is because the Lord is good to the soul that seek Him

LAMENTATION 3:25

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. Vs. 25

Also He says,He hasn’t asked anyone to seek Him in vain.

ISAIAH 45:19

I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right. Vs. 19

JEREMIAH 29:13

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Vs. 13

It says, when we seek Him, we will find Him especially when we seek Him with all our heart.

Know also, that those that seek God do rejoice.

PSALM 70:4

Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. Vs. 4

WHEN TO SEEK GOD

ISAIAH 55:6

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Vs. 6

We are asked to seek God when we can find Him and that is when He is near. This suggests, when we are still very strong, energetic and having understanding of who God is even when you can still choose between good and evil. When we can still tell God I want to accept you into my life. That is why He said those that seek me early shall find me.

PROVERBS 8:17

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Vs. 17

In fact, one should seek Him first before any other thing on earth and everything we want in life will be added

MATTHEW 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Vs. 33

If you need life, He says seek Him and live

AMOS 5:4

For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live: Vs. 4

WHEN NOT TO SEEK GOD

Actually, God is available at all times but when we are fund of turning Him away whenever He wants us, He may not be readily available whenever we need Him desperately. This is why He has warned in

ECCLESIASTES 12:1

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; Vs. 1

Not when the evil days come and when we have no pleasure in anything anymore, then we would be afraid of a thing like grasshopper.

ECCLESIASTES 12:2-5

While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain: Vs.2
In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,Vs.3
And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low; Vs.4
Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets: Vs.5

Many seek God only when they are in trouble.

ISAIAH 26:16-17

LORD, they came to you in their distress; when you disciplined them, they could barely whisper a prayer. Vs.16
As a pregnant woman about to give birth writhes and cries out in her pain, so were we in your presence, LORD. Vs.17

God says, they will call upon me and I will not answer them. In such situations, even if they seek me early they shall not find me.

PROVERBS 1:28

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: Vs.28

HOW TO START SEEKING GOD

If we haven’t received Jesus into our lives, the following are the steps to do so;

  • Acknowledge our sins before God.
  • Believe that He died for us
  • Repent and forsake our sins
  • Tell Jesus to cleanse us with Hid blood and write our name in the book of life
