The Kill
I waited for hours, hidden in the African brush. The heat was suffocating and I fell into a daze. When she came I was startled to life and silently moved to get a better shot. I held my gun firmly. Nervous sweat fogged up the scope. In a moment I was lost in concentration. Watching her footsteps and waiting to make the kill. That is when I felt another pair of eyes piercing the back of my neck. Turning, I saw another lioness approaching me from behind, eyes glazed in concentration, watching my footsteps, and waiting to make the kill.
