Now that my journey through grad school is over, maybe I should give the dating scene another shot. The options I had in the past are apparently no longer available, so maybe this is a good time to meet someone new. Let’s see what life has in store for me from here on out.
Hi everyone in the HIVE OPEN MIC community! It’s
@eudarcabello here, and this time I’m participating in Week 322, titled Game of Love. I didn’t want to leave this post until the last minute—I always do my best to post on time during the week, and thankfully, that didn’t happen this time. I really hope to stay on schedule from now on. The crazy thing is that the grad school evaluations are still going strong—this is really driving me nuts. Even though I’m already out of the program for failing one of the courses, and with my thesis, I’m still kind of lazy—it’s basically a project for my current job. So even though I’m out of the Marine Biology grad program, its shadow still haunts me. Let’s hope it ends soon and see if another opportunity for grad school comes up. I think the song I chose ended up leaning toward the romantic side. To be honest, I never really bothered to learn it, but it wasn’t until now, when I read the lyrics, that I realized they weren’t that hard to learn—it’s as if they’d always been in my head. The song is one of the most beautiful by the Venezuelan singer Oscar D’León, and it’s titled “Frenzy.” I didn’t want to keep thinking about whether another song might come to mind; I’m satisfied with how my choice turned out for this week. I definitely needed to do this—maybe biology is meant for me, so it seemed like the right time. Let’s see what opportunities come my way to further my higher education.

My life is currently shrouded in uncertainty—what will happen to me from here on out? I’m still in a job that’s mostly based on marine biology, which, according to the results of this graduate program, isn’t really for me—even though it was a course that focused mostly on physics and chemistry. But anyway, I’ll stick with this job for now. I saw some other graduate programs at another university, but my friend and I are still debating whether to go for another one.
At first, I was really bummed about not getting into the graduate program, but now I’m just excited—which is a positive thing. I saw another graduate program that’s more in line with my field, which is terrestrial plants. Maybe if I use the bivalve shells I work with, or perhaps the epibionts, I can come up with a project that will get me the necessary permits to study that area, which has nothing to do with my current job. Everything is still a mystery at this point; I just have to wait and see what happens. Even if I end up just with a bachelor’s degree, that’s not so bad—I still see it as a major achievement.
I try to let all the things in my life flow, I might try to force everything a little bit, like with the Marine Biology postgraduate course or trying to be constant in Hive, but whatever ends up turning out, I know I will know how to accept it. Grateful for all the good things that have happened to me and the bad things that I have gotten rid of, for your support, I hope you also visit my other posts, good luck with your content and see you next week.
