Elisa was sitting in the corner of her room next to her loving younger sister Elaine. Although they were nineteen years apart, their connection was so deep that they seemed to be friends of the same age. Elisa's meltdowns were recurrent, especially when she was feeling unhappy and only Elaine was able to cheer her up. That afternoon the two sisters were sitting on the floor, looking at old photos of Elisa.

—What nostalgia— Elisa sighed.

Elaine took a photograph from Elisa's hands, and admired her twenty-year-old sister, radiant in a sequined black mini-dress and flowing hair.

—Why can't I meet this girl— Elaine asked, tossing the photograph next to the others that formed a small mountain on the floor.

—Because adult life sucks.

Elaine's big brown eyes looked curiously at her older sister.

—Mom and Grandma say because you're immature.

Elisa frowned, as if ice water had been poured on her.

—Mom and Grandma don't understand me. —said Elisa.

—Get married and have children once and for all. —said Elaine with some emotion in her voice.

— You don't know, child, how boring and difficult it is to be married. Besides, my crises are not because I am single — shouted Elisa. All I want is to go back to my twenties, where I was totally carefree and happy. I hate my adult life.

After a brief silence, Elaine sighed wearily and raised her knees, resting her arms on them.

—I want you to be happy, sister.

Just then, the two were startled, hearing their mother call them from downstairs to go eat.

— We're coming down! — Elaine shouted in response. Elisa, on the other hand, shook her head and Elaine knew she had to come up with a good excuse to explain why her sister wasn't coming down for lunch.

Elaine got up and left her older sister's room, closing the door behind her. Elisa stood silently staring at the pile of photographs of her twenties on the floor. A slight breeze blew in through the window, moving the white curtains that adorned the room. A black tear, due to the mascara she wore, lingered on the wart near the corner of her lips. Her eyes stopped on one particular photo, where she was wearing a red, sensual dress. She remembered that day and smiled, but something extraordinary happened next: she was engulfed by the photograph as if by magic.

Elisa could not believe what had just happened to her. She had been transported into the photograph, where she was twenty years old again, at the exact moment when her picture had been taken, looking young and radiant. The strangest thing of all was that she was still seeing her room through a giant screen in the club she was in. Only she could perceive her room projected on the big screen. The music of that time was so lively that she forgot for a second that she wasn't supposed to be there and started dancing, until two of her friends from that time approached her.

—Jose, Alain! I missed you guys so much all these years! —Elisa shouted, trying to make her voice heard over the music.

The two tall men looked at her strangely, as they had arrived at the club together.

—Have you smoked anything in the minutes we were absent? —asked Alain, letting out a mocking laugh.

At that very moment, Elisa felt like crying. She had missed so much her twenties, the laughter, the carefree, healthy and fun atmosphere, the jokes of her friends, who at thirty had become boring and distant adult executives, married with children. At that moment he would not have imagined that time would change them so much. She hugged them tightly, in a fit of nostalgia, and realized that she not only missed the craziness of her youth, but also spending time with her friends and the joy of dancing as the music vibrated in every cell of her body.

—Move that skeleton!— José shouted at him, and the three of them went to the center of the dance floor.

Elisa felt alive again. She moved very freely, as if there were no worries in her life. José, Alain and she shouted with great excitement: Long live the twenties! Elisa felt happy, as she hadn't for a long time. But at that moment, a voice on the other side of the big screen of the club began to whisper to her: Elisa, wake up. It was Elaine's voice. The screen was still projecting her room, but she couldn't see her younger sister anywhere. Nevertheless, she kept telling her to wake up. Apparently, it was all a dream and as the volume of the music intensified. Elisa began to feel something sucking her back to reality.

—I want to stay here! —she cried out in desperation, but no one seemed to hear her.

An invisible force lifted her above all the young people in the club and carried her towards the large, brightly glowing screen until she vanished completely inside it.

She awoke on the floor, surrounded by her old photos. Elaine was assessing her with concern.

—Are you feeling all right— she asked.

Elisa looked at her photos with a big smile.

—I'm fine, after all. I'm Elisa, a thirty-year-old woman, and I'm not going to live in the past anymore— she replied to her younger sister, as if she were saying it to herself. - From today on, I just want to do fun things for myself.

Elaine watched her with a smile from ear to ear and then gave her a big hug.
