My workplace was immersed in a special celebration for Geologist's Day. The place they had chosen was Delirio Habanero 😮. For a week now, my coworkers (the tembas 😁) had been talking about this and about how there would be transportation to the venue, so everything was fine. When my boss announced it in our research section's WhatsApp group, I just confirmed that I would go; why on earth would I miss lunch at Delirio Habanero? 😁. Then, shortly after, I saw in the group that transportation was suspended, due to—who the hell knows—the usual problems we have in the country. So, I asked some of my younger colleagues if they would go despite everything, and they said yes: our exact same mentalities. No matter what, we're going to lunch at Delirio, even one of them was going to go while sick 😁. But then they announced in the group that the activity was also canceled; my boss just texted me that due to arising difficulties, after wishing me luck in managing to get to the activity from my municipality by my own means at nine o'clock.

Awful.

Well, my boss told us all that she would let us know about the new place and what time it would be. And on Sunday she announced it would be at work. Some people were very disappointed that the great expectation of Delirio dropped down to the workplace we see every day. The director explained the reasons why we didn't do it where we had planned, but most people simply judged him for not planning things correctly. Yet, another part of the people simply understood that, due to the current situation in the country, these things happen.

Did we have a good time? Of course we did, if Cubans know how to have fun in adversity, how could we not have fun with music, food, drinks, caldosa (broth), and good friends to hang out with. Everyone loved the caldosa that the men at my workplace made, so much so that the pot didn't even last thirty minutes full 😆.

In the end, the goal was achieved despite the difficulties, and we spent a different kind of day.
