I hope you are having a great time. This week we have a new opportunity to share. Our dear friend @charjaim motivates us to make a stop, to dig into our memories and bring back those beautiful memories of our childhood. "The stage when our only responsibility was to study."
My time as a student was a bit hectic. It was full of very good, funny and not so good moments heh heh heh heh!!!!
I remember starting preschool at the age of 5 years old. It was a very nice classroom, in one corner We had a space with the layout of the inside of a house. Each room separated with plasterboard as high as our waist. When we played sitting down, we would wave to each other from room to room. I loved the telephone in the living room, (it was real, although it didn't work), I spent a lot of my recess there :)
When I moved to first grade I had to move from the school where I studied my elementary grades and this is one of the not so good parts. The kids at this school already knew each other since preschool, since I was "the new one" they only treated me as much as necessary and because I was also "very white" they called me a lot of nicknames that honored my color, among which were "litro de leche", "paper", and others that I don't even remember anymore. As that first year went by, we got to know each other better and the relationship improved, although that didn't stop them from calling me names. In third grade, I joined the gymnastics team and the girls looked for me more when they wanted to practice. Since I always liked music and dancing, we used to choreograph choreographies during recess. It was, with all its obstacles, a spectacular time when we were upset and soon we were happy again.
On one occasion we proposed to present, together with the gym teacher, a jazz piece in one of the parties that were regularly held and to my regret that afternoon it rained cats and dogs. Dad, who was a bit (quite) grumpy, was the one who on that occasion had to drive me and went all the way to the school theater telling me, among other things, to stop making up so much and I went quietly, holding my two rain showers (the one from heaven and the one from my dad) praying that he wouldn't think of telling me that I wasn't going to dance!
The last three grades of elementary school were more bearable because my friends' moms would pick me up and my dad didn't have to take me to rehearsals.
The high school stage started off excellent, my elementary group and I all went together to 1st YEAR HIGH SCHOOL!!!! "We were already grown" and we could get together with the excuse of doing work (whether it was necessary or not). My friends with whom I danced always had new steps and we would perform at meetings. We had a lot of fun.
Farewell time
Second year came and with it, the time to say goodbye to my friends and dance partners, the time to go for walks, the time to have fun. Mom had a job opportunity in Barquisimeto, another state, and she didn't want to leave us with dad. It was very painful for me to be separated from my group and I remember that we cried together and made a promise to write and send each other cards on our birthdays.
In Barquisimeto I only studied for one year, my mother could not do it alone, my father had a job in Maiquetía and we went back home. When I arrived I was enrolled in a high school where, despite being new, I had no problems to integrate. In a short time I had already made several friends. My physical education teacher quickly noticed my dance and choreography skills and made me captain of the group. It was great, because I was doing what I loved. In the following years, by the end of high school, school activities had all my attention and I no longer had time for dancing but other tastes began. By that time I had a boyfriend and I tell you an anecdote....
Because I grew up with boys, my games were not always very delicate and when someone messed with me, I didn't need help, I always knew how to defend myself and this is when my story begins.
For some time José had been attracting my attention and he didn't know it, but it turns out that he also liked me and he didn't know it either :) One day we were in the central courtyard of the high school, sitting under an almond tree waiting to enter the next class and he was gathered in front of us with his friends and one of my friends challenged me and told me "You can't hit that can with this almond" (The can in question was behind Jose and his friends) and I, without thinking I said, "Why not? Since I was embarrassed when it concerned boys, I wasn't going to ask anyone for permission, so I decided to throw the almond and guess what happened! Just as I threw the almond, HE MOVED and I don't know how hard that almond was, I split his head open.
I felt a heat in my cheeks and ears and, for a moment, I thought I was going to faint. I ran to where he was, he had his hands on his head and in the wound a little blood. I apologized as much as I could and he just took the moment to tell me that I owed him a kiss for almost killing him. There I realized that he felt fine and I accompanied him to the infirmary. With much embarrassment I explained what had happened and I left as if walking on a cloud ha ha ha!
I could spend hours remembering and writing about this time, but I think this is enough to tire your eyes. Even though school time is long gone, every time we look back on it we always feel happy.
The most interesting and beautiful days are those in which we begin to know life by ourselves. Those in which we make mistakes and we believe that we are going to get into serious trouble and in some cases we succeed or even worse that we will die of fright and we realize that it is not like that, that they are only experiences that we will remember later and will put a smile on our faces. School days will always be the best days of life.
