Have you ever been invited somewhere and said yes without thinking twice? That’s me! The Filipino word we use to refer to that kind of person is kaladkarin, and yes, I'm a kaladkarin! 🤣

My friend Haizelle and her family were having dinner, and she invited me to join them. Being the kaladkarin that I am, of course, I said yes! Especially after seeing a video on social media showing how beautiful the place was. It looked aesthetic, and I knew I had to see it for myself!

We planned to go to Eugenio Lopez Center in Antipolo, which is a peaceful hilltop retreat where nature, sunset views, and sparkling city lights come together for a relaxing escape from the busy city.

We arrived while the sun was still up, so I took a few photos while waiting for Haizelle and her husband, Kuya Dave.

The place offered an overlooking view of Metro Manila, with the vast city stretching into the distance.

There were quite a lot of people, probably because it was the weekend, but the outdoor area wasn’t too crowded. Most guests seemed to prefer staying inside the air-conditioned restaurant rather than enjoying the fresh upland air.

As I looked around, I also spotted a wide pool down below that could be rented for meetings and parties.

Sunset, Dinner, and City Lights

After a few minutes, Haizelle and Kuya Dave arrived, just in time for the sunset! Of course, I immediately asked Haizelle to take photos of me while I captured the beautiful sky.

Of course, a view like this deserves a spot in my photo gallery!

When twilight came, we headed inside for dinner.

Haizelle’s family had already ordered the food and was just waiting for us so everyone could eat together.

After dinner, we went outside again. Her family headed home, but we decided to stay a little longer to admire the city lights and talk about random things.

The sunset was gone, but the sparkling lights of Metro Manila made the view just as beautiful. Sometimes, simple conversations with good company are all you need to end the day happily.

Around 8 PM, we finally decided to head home since we still had a 30-minute trip ahead of us.

One Last Photo

On our way out, we passed by a wide circular area with a piano on the first floor. And you already know what happened next.

Of course, another photo had to be taken!😂

And that’s the end of our little sunset-chasing adventure. A simple dinner invitation turned into an evening filled with beautiful views, good food, and lovely conversations.

Sometimes, the best adventures are the unplanned ones. You just have to be a little kaladkarin and say yes!🧡
