What does it mean to be a man?
This is a fundamental question, however only a few consider it. Many grown males have no idea what it means to be a man, who can blame them, what we were taught in school was "a grown boy is a man".
This held true ages ago not until grown boys in our generations started remaining grown boys, then old boys, then die as gray haired boys.
So beyond the typical seemingly obvious, What does it mean to be a man?
Who is a man? What make one a man? What does it take to be a man?
As usual, I don't claim to be all knowing, but I believe I know to a convincing extent
Being a man is not a function of age, nor size, No. It is a function of capacity, how much can you carry (responsibility), How much can you handle (maturity), how firm can you stand (values)
To qualify as man, certain things have to be in place:
- Discover yourself
This is the first and most important, you have to learn who you are as an individual, find yourself, know yourself
- Value system
To be regarded as a man you have to have establsihed your value system, the things that are important to you in life, what are your beliefs? what principles do you live by? what can you die for?
Make small but consistent
- Awareness
As a man, you have to be aware of what is going on, in the home, in the sorrunding, in the country, in the world, economically, politically, socially, medically, etc.
- Timing
This is the last one I will mention, but it is just as important as all others, as a man, you are expectred to be able to read and interpret the various timings. Know when to be quiet and when to talk, know when to concede and when to protest, know when to fight and when to flow, know when you should be where you intend or want to be.
Feel free to add more to the list in the comment section.............Shalom
