Greetings community!

I hadn't thought of drawing a kawaii cat as a mermaid, I don't know if I'm pronouncing it right, but I do know that I wanted it to be very colorful.

I did this cartoon as a practice, I had drawn fish before but I don't think they were as nice as this time. As for the kitten, I need to give it a little more freedom, I need to practice the things that I still can't get right.

I was just talking to someone about motivation, when we want to improve we look for many ways to do it, we study, take courses, watch tutorials and draw until we get tired. It is true that it will not always look good but nevertheless if we want to improve then we must show some improvement. I still have a lot to learn. I encourage you to stay motivated, practice, do new things, challenge yourself and progress, where there is a will there is a way.

I remember when I used to draw with the mouse, it was really difficult for me, sometimes I don't even know how I did it, but as I came from making designs in Adobe CS6 I understood more or less the matter, however, I wouldn't want to go back to those programs, because of how unfriendly they are with their tools, it's my opinion and I admire who can use them with such ease and professionalism that I already forgot.

No se me había ocurrido dibujar un gato kawaii como sirena, no se si esta lo estoy pronunciando bien, pero si se que quería que fuera muy colorido.

Esta caricatura la hice a modo practica, había dibujado peces antes pero no creo me quedaran tan bonitos como en esta ocasión. En cuanto al gatito necesito darle más soltura, un poco más hay que practicar las cosas que aun no me salen bien.

Recién hablaba con alguien acerca de lo que es la motivación, cuando queremos mejorar buscamos muchas formas para ello, estudiamos, hacemos cursos, vemos tutoriales y dibujamos hasta cansarnos. De cierto es que no siempre nos quedará bien pero sin embargo si queremos superarnos entonces debemos mostrar cierta mejoría. Aún me falta muchísimo por aprender. Los animo a que se mantengan motivados, practiquen, hagan cosas nuevas, rétense a sí mismos y progresen, querer es poder.

Recuerdo cuando dibujaba con el ratón, de verdad era muy difícil para mí, a veces ni sé cómo lo hacía, pero como venía de hacer diseños en Adobe CS6 entendía más o menos el asunto, sin embargo, ni por asomo quisiera regresar a esos programas, por lo poco amigables que son con sus herramientas, es mi opinión y admiro quien puede usarlos con tanta facilidad y profesionalismo que yo ya olvidé.

What I never forget are my roots, my beginnings, I come back to see my progress but never to make a redraw because my intention is to move forward. Many do it but there are things that simply do not work for me because they cost me a lot, I don't know the reasons.

While I was giving life to this fish I remembered my stories when I started my blog, children's stories were my passion, my refuge, now I concentrate more on drawing maybe so that someone is inspired by them and make them a story for me.

Just recently my co-worker told me that when he presents his designs he is more dedicated to explaining the step by step, while another friend of mine, a drawer, once told me that it was very routine to explain always the same thing because she uses the same technique, I understood her, maybe that's why I always prefer to talk, make a more personal deal and share, then I explain what I did in the design that is new.

The universe of perceptions between each artist is different, they do it in their own way and at their own comfort, the only thing I can say is, a little love to the presentation of your project, we know that we spend hours and hours drawing, but if we want to be known and recognized, it is always good to attend your blog, present your work in a pleasant way and explain a little about how you achieved it, besides that, we are human and it is also valid to vent telling the inspiration or what you thought while drawing, I thought about all these things that I am writing.

Imagine that you spent 12 hours drawing or more and you present your work just one picture and that's it, isn't it boring and dry? Or that we just repeat the same thing all the time to the point of looking like a copy paste of ourselves.

However, we must remember that someone new is always going to visit us, so we have to consider that too. What do you think? I'm on the same thing.

Today I learned how to recreate a Koi fish species and create the bubbles in the water in a different way.

I also learned that when we draw without lineart the designs are in 3D and when we use lineart and apply shading and light to give depth and highlight, we are drawing in 2D. How funny isn't it?

Lo que nunca olvido son mis raíces, mis inicios, regreso para ver mis progresos pero nunca para hacer un redraw pues mi intención es avanzar. Muchos lo hacen pero hay cosas que sencillamente a mí no se me dan pues em cuestan mucho, ignoro las razones.

Mientras daba vida a este pez recordé mis cuentos cuando empecé con mi blog, los cuentos infantiles eran mi pasión, mi refugio, ahora me concentro más en dibujar quizá para que alguien se inspire con ellos y les haga un cuento por mí.

Recién mi compañero de trabajo me comentó que cuando él presenta sus diseños se dedica más a explicar el paso a paso, mientras que otra amiga dibujante, una vez me dijo que se le hacía muy rutinario explicar siempre lo mismo pues usa la misma técnica, la comprendí, quizá por eso siempre prefiero hablar, hacer un trato más personal y compartir, luego explico qué fue lo que hice en el diseño que sea novedoso.

El universo de percepciones entre cada artista es diferente, lo hace a su manera y a su comodidad, lo único que puedo decir es, un poco de amor a la presentación de su proyecto, sabemos que pasamos horas y horas dibujando, pero si queremos que nos conozcan y nos reconozcan, siempre es bueno atender tu blog, presentar tu trabajo de forma amena y explicar un poco sobre cómo lo lograste, además de ello, somos humanos y también es válido desahogarse contando la inspiración o lo que pensabas mientras dibujabas, yo pensaba en todas estas cosas que estoy escribiendo.

Imagina que pasaste 12 horas dibujando o más y presentas tu trabajo una sola foto y ya ¿No es algo aburrido y seco? O que solo repitamos lo mismo todo el tiempo a punto de parecer un copy paste de nosotros mismos.

Sin embargo, debemos recordar que siempre alguien nuevo nos va a visitar, así que hay que considerar eso también. ¿Qué opinas? yo estoy en las mismas.

Hoy aprendí a recrear un especie de pez Koi y crear las burbujas en el agua de forma diferente.

También aprendí que cuando dibujamos sin lineart los diseños están en 3D y cuando usamos lineart y aplicamos sombreado y luz para dar profundidad y realce, pues estamos dibujando en 2D ¿Qué curioso no?

Sketch: I capture the idea through doodles and then I give it shape, the fish tank was very neat because I use the geometric figures and ellipse tools to recreate it.

Base color: The color sweep was done through different folders for each color and with their respective canvases. We colored with the superimposed sketch to which we modified the opacity to be able to see through it.

Boceto: plasmo la idea a través de garabatos luego voy dando forma, la pecera quedó muy prolija pues uso las herramientas figuras geométricas y elipse para recrearla.

Color base: El barrido de color fue de por carpetas distintas para cada color y con sus lienzos respectivos. Coloreamos con el boceto superpuesto al que modificamos la opacidad para poder ver a través de él.

The next step I applied rainbow colors with the spray brush on the kitten's tail and used the same for the scales. Then I added the blush details and the eyes. With the help of the Geometric circle shapes tool I made the little bubbles.

Next I applied the shading.

"Zapatero a su zapato" lo mío es caricatura... Cada quien con su estilo no hay por qué incomodarse.

El siguiente paso apliqué colores arcoíris con el pincel pulverización en la cola del gatito y usé los mismos para las escamas. Seguidamente agregué los detalles de rubor y los ojos. Con ayuda de la herramienta Figuras geométricas círculo hice las burbujitas.

El siguiente paso apliqué el sombreado.

I added shading and light with the spray brush to the water of the fish tank. Of course we must position ourselves in the respective color folder to be able to do this and then apply the crop option to stay within the margin.

I left the little fish last while I was thinking how I was going to give it life, I continued with the theme of the design then I just applied shading with the spray brush.

At the end I decided to put a dark background because my design was getting lost.

Agregué sombreado y luz con el pincel pulverización al agua de la pecera. Por supuesto que debemos posicionarnos en la carpeta de color respectivo para poder hacer esto y luego aplicar la opción recorte para no salirnos del margen.

Dejé de último el pececito mientras iba pensando cómo le iba a dar vida, continué con la temática del diseño entonces tan solo apliqué sombreado con el pincel pulverización.

Al final decidí colocarle un fondo oscuro pues se perdía mi diseño.

Espero les guste, lo hice con todo el cariño del mundo mientras pienso en la inmortalidad del cangrejo.
