Siempre nos da placer comprar cosas, más cuando hacemos un esfuerzo grande, cuando vamos reuniendo un capital monetario hasta lograrlo, el porcelanicrón se ha hecho algo escaso por aquí, está siendo reemplazado por arcilla polimérica, ambos productos son muy costosos, por mis alergias prefiero trabajar con el porcelanicrón y el foami flexible, me va mejor, hace un tiempo compré arcilla de secado al aire y realmente no me agradó mucho, solo porque no es funcional para lo que yo quiero, está bien para otras cosas, pero no está en mi campo de arte.
Tuve la experiencia de comprar el porcelanicrón cuyo envío no era gratuito, pasé varios días con ansiedad pensando en que el costo iba a ser muy alto, sin embargo por esos 500 gramos de porcelanicrón pague a penas 4,5$ y eso que el lugar de origen es un estado del país muy lejos de donde estoy, mi experiencia fue positiva entonces, pude vencer el miedo.
Los demás insumos los adquirí en tiendas físicas de mi zona y entre tanto que caminé conseguí un lugar que estaban mucho más económicos donde por supuesto los compré, te sorprenderás cuánto gastamos en comprar insumos, la mano de obra y todo eso también tiene su costo, por eso es importante que las personas comprendan cuando creen que algo hecho a mano es muy costoso.

We always enjoy buying things, especially when we’ve made a big effort – when we’ve been saving up until we can afford them. Porcelanicrón has become rather hard to come by round here; it’s being replaced by polymer clay. Both products are very expensive, but because of my allergies I prefer to work with Porcelanicrón and flexible foam – it suits me better. A while ago I bought some air-drying clay and I didn’t really like it very much, simply because it isn’t suitable for what I want to do; it’s fine for other things, but it’s not in my artistic field.
I once bought some Porcelanicrón where delivery wasn’t free; I spent several days worrying that the cost would be very high. However, for those 500 grams of Porcelanicrón, I paid barely $4.50 – and that’s despite the fact that it came from a state very far away from where I am. So my experience was positive; I managed to overcome my fear.
I bought the other supplies in high-street shops in my area, and whilst I was out and about, I found a place that was much cheaper, so of course that’s where I bought them. You’d be surprised how much we spend on supplies; labour and all that also come at a cost, which is why it’s important for people to understand this when they think that something handmade is very expensive.

Goma transparente, prefiero usarla con el foami moldeable porque al secar no deja marcas.
Pintura al frío color oro metalizado, hace rato que necesitaba comprarlo, pero los costos por ese pequeño potecito me parecía exagerado en 5$ en varias tiendas que pregunté, en ese lugar que visité lo compré por tan solo 0,85$ me daban ganas de comprar otro.
Los aros en diferentes tamaños, no sé cuántos trae la cajita pero creó que traen más de 200 piezas en cada separación, trae además el anillo que nos ayuda a abrir y cerrar la argolla, amé el organizador, cando se me terminen los aros, está precioso para usarlo de joyero. En tiendas online y otras tiendas cercanas por solo 200 piezas de un solo tamaño tenían un costo de 12$ está caja me parece que trae 1200 piezas y solo me costó 4,5$

Clear rubber – I prefer to use it with mouldable foam because it doesn’t leave marks when it dries.
Metallic gold cold paint – I’d been needing to buy this for a while, but the price for that little pot seemed a bit steep at $5 in several shops I asked at; at the place I visited, I bought it for just $0.85 – I felt like buying another one.
Rings in different sizes – I’m not sure how many are in the box, but I reckon there are over 200 pieces in each compartment. It also comes with a ring that helps you open and close the hoop. I loved the organiser; when I run out of rings, it’ll make a lovely jewellery box. In online shops and other local shops, just 200 pieces of a single size cost $12; this box looks like it contains 1,200 pieces and only cost me $4.50.

Compré dos manteles de bambú para hacer manualidades, me gustaron sus colores. Me causó mucha gracia que cada vez que pasaba de vendedor a vendedor olían los manteles, hasta que le pregunté al último ¿Por qué lo hueles? todos agarran el producto y lo huelen ¿Por qué? El vendedor respondió con una sonrisa - Me agrada el olor, entonces respondí que no solo le agrada a él sino a todos los compañeros de él lo agarraron, hubo sonrisas muy cómplices. Confieso que yo no había percibido el aroma del producto y le pedí me lo pasara para olerlo y de verdad tiene un olor a bambú agradable.
No sé la calidad del porcelanicrón que compré, aún no lo he abierto pero se siente muy duro, creo que tendré que hidratarlo.
Compré una bolsa con 10 guantes esto es por mis alergias y evité que fueran de látex, espero estos guantes no sean incómodos.
Es mi primera vez que compro foami moldeable de 24 colores, el costo de ellos era el mismo que pagaba por uno de 12 colores, así que no lo dudé.
Queridos en total gasté no alcanzó los 30$ creo que economicé bastante y todo salió bien. A la hora de crear, es bueno buscar opciones, tiendas y recursos donde por el mismo producto el costo sea menor.

I bought two bamboo tablecloths for craft projects; I liked their colours. I found it really funny that every time I went from one sales assistant to another, they’d sniff the tablecloths, until I asked the last one, ‘Why are you sniffing it?’ They all pick up the product and sniff it – why? The sales assistant replied with a smile, ‘I like the smell.’ So I replied that it wasn’t just him who liked it, but all his colleagues too – they’d all picked it up – and there were some very knowing smiles. I must admit I hadn’t noticed the product’s scent myself, so I asked him to pass it to me so I could have a sniff, and it really does have a pleasant bamboo scent.
I don’t know the quality of the Porcelanicrón I bought; I haven’t opened it yet, but it feels very hard – I think I’ll have to soften it.
I bought a pack of 10 gloves because of my allergies and to avoid latex ones; I hope these gloves aren’t uncomfortable.
It’s the first time I’ve bought a 24-colour pack of mouldable foam; it cost the same as a 12-colour pack, so I didn’t hesitate.
All in all, I spent less than $30 – I think I saved quite a bit and everything went well. When it comes to creating, it’s good to look for options, shops and resources where you can get the same product for less.
