One thing that is part of the build process of podcasting is the intro and outro music. What is the music that listeners will automatically begin to think of your show when they hear it?
I begin by asking what style of music they prefer. This gives me a starting point as I develop the playlist for their consideration. This part is where I sit with headphones on and peruse the many...so many music track options. Depending on how narrow or broad the music examples are I will wind up with anywhere from 10-30 music tracks in a playlist.
That is the starting point for the podcast host to go through. I've narrowed it down and now they go into selecting their top 3-5 music tracks. With that narrowed down selection we will license the track, and put the first edit together with the trailer or intro voice over track. This is when the podcast host will make their final decision.
The fact is that once you hear the voice over with the music it becomes obvious which music track is the one. There is never any question. It stands out in a way the other music tracks do not. This has been the tried and true method that works every time.
