i've always been fascinated by opposing mirrors and the repeated reflections they make in each other. so you can image my surprise and delight when we walked out of the elevator at City Seasons hotel in Muscat. in the elevator lobby there were two round opposing mirrors with white frames. positioning oneself to see the different effects is part of the fun. it's not always easy to avoid being included in the reflection and small changes of the angle can determine whether you get the maximum of decreasingly sized reflections, in theory to infinity. after some effort i found this position to be the best. a sliver of my phone is apparent in the first and third circular reflections. you can see how if i moved to the right more phone would appear but if i moved to the left part of the circles would disappear. i suppose i could have erased that sliver but keeping it in the image gives a better sense of where i took the shot from
