there are many seagulls here in town. during the early morning hours of the far northern summer they make too much noise, disturbing our sleep. but by September the young are able to fend for themselves so they quiet down considerably. if I toss some food scraps on the dock they gather quickly and pose for some nice close-ups.
of course, I do it in the late afternoon on a sunny day to make sure they bring their shadows with them. you know the saying there is no such thing as a free lunch...
