What?? It's not Tuesday anymore? Well, it's the day after Tuesday and around here ... that still counts. Just ask traciyork@traciyork. She'll back me up on that one.

Introduction

My Tarot Tuesday Twosome takes two cards and explains what they suggest about the present and immediate future. Two cards can show point / counter-point situations. They can show a situation and further details to consider. They can indicate the present situation ... and the near future or the next step in the progression.

They give literally twice as much information as the familiar One-Card Reading, and I have found them to be surprisingly prescient in my practice with them. So, I decided to bring them here to my Steemit blog -- to show you what I mean and invite you to consider their weekly message / prediction ... and step into a more conscious life.

(Apparently, the Tarot is not going to shut up about this.)

The Sojourner Rx = (The King of Cups Rx in the traditional Tarot.) = feeling burned out, emotionally drained, creatively blocked, depressed, working on a new level of emotional health and self-understanding

8 of Mirrors Rx = (The 8 of Cups Rx in the traditional Tarot.) - "moving on," discovering new potentials, playing with new creative efforts, being open to new experiences and opportunities, looking for "something else" to which to devote time and effort

A comment on current conditions
What are these cards saying?

You have truly reached the end (the bitter end!!) of some major cycle of creative production. It's time to step back from what is familiar (that been-there-done-that feeling!!) and find something more exciting, more advanced, and different to work on next. (So decide what that means in your situation. It will be different for everyone.)

A forecast of the future
As a one-two sequence,
cause and effect / situation and result,
present situation and next situation

1 - 2 sequence = You're using your considerable experience, education, expertise, etc., to create something new and exciting -- possibly different from anything you've attempted so far ... and you're still working on exactly how to shape it, how to present it, what it will contain, etc. These two cards show you're at a major transition point in your creative life -- and are figuring out to proceed with all you have available. You may not have discovered all its potential yourself -- yet.

Cause-and-effect = You have reached a point of major burn-out, emotional exhaustion, being creatively tapped out, "hitting the wall," etc. You may still be coping with the after-effects of this, but you are on your way to recovery. You're just not "back to your old self again," and the honest truth is -- you will never get there. This is a situation of "you can't go home again" because you've outgrown that place.

You need to build a different public persona, step up to a different level of experience, find a much more sophisticated way of expressing and experiencing yourself and your potential -- because there is a lot more raw material for you to work with now. That's what you've built from the road you've recently traveled -- believe it or not. You're like a butterfly breaking out of its chrysalis ... or a snake shedding its old skin. You've grown. You're different. You've become someone else. And this may take some getting used to ... TBH.

What will come from this, of course, is a new and finer level of creative production. What you will build from this will be more useful, more worthwhile, more impressive -- and hopefully more profitable -- than the work you've done in the past. It will certainly be more meaningful to you. Which makes this transition (which could amount to a mini-breakdown in reality) worth the experience -- in time.

Situation-and-result = You have reached -- or are dealing with -- a major crisis point in your psychological / emotional / creative life. You have considerable experience behind you ... and yet, you came to a place where what you were working with just "didn't do it for you" any more.

It may have manifested as boredom, depression, a sobering realization that what you were doing didn't matter to you as much as it should ... and that something else (maybe something you had yet to discover) was what you needed to work on ... or somewhere else was where you needed to go next.

Of course that kind of psychological change can occur in an instant. It's the regrouping / new choices / different perspectives and different expressions that take time to set up. Logically, you can realize how productive that is. Emotionally though, it can be frustrating, frightening, disorienting ... and damn difficult.

The prospect of a new path can be terribly exciting, but for a while, you're still feeling your way in the dark. (And to some extent you have to trust that you're not off on a wild goose chase, that the path is really there, etc. This adds to the confusion -- and can be far from comforting while you get yourself rounded up and pointed in a different direction -- which you may also have to discover first.)

So, those discoveries have taken some recent time and effort. And for all the work that's gone into it so far, you "don't have anything to show for it ... yet."

Present situation / next situation = You've reached a state of virtual collapse in your emotional / creative efforts. You may have given more than you got back from past work. You can't come up with good reasons to keep doing the same-old-same-old whatever you've been doing.

Time to move on to something else -- and ignite your passions again.

A point to ponder
Simple words of wisdom
to make the journey more interesting

The King of Cups Rx can show another person in your situation, an inner part of you, a set of attitudes and perspectives that are corrupted or blocked or unable to express directly somehow. This is a very mature energy that has reached a dead-end somehow ... and needs "new inspiration," to go back to school," to find meaning again, etc. He can also show an inner state of serious personal growth and transformation that isn't ready to make a public appearance yet. Believe it or not, one kind of grows out of the other.

But if he mucks around too long in his collapsed condition, this energy turns toxic and destructive and can cause a whole host of trouble. For one thing, he feels out of control, lacking for answers, unappreciated, misunderstood, etc. He tends to lack compassion -- for himself or anyone else. He beats himself up -- over pretty much every new annoyance and frustration -- because he hasn't processed or let go of a lot of "old stuff" that is the real source of the problem.

He has no emotional balance. He's repressing too much -- (and wow is that hard work!!) He's given to emotional outbursts, crying jags, serious depression, self-pity, emotional blackmail / emotional manipulation of himself and others, vindictiveness, "getting even" with someone for something -- or feeling chronically bitter about "life."

He feels lost and victimized. He may have trouble expressing anger, so he turns it inward -- or loads it up on his family (where it's safe ... or at least on people who have to take it rather than hitting him back, as a stranger might.)

There's a lot of injury to heal in this person (and what he depicts) -- and maybe the need for a lot of forgiveness, too. The main thing though is ... you need to confront what's going on -- and work with it. Sweeping things under the rug is part of how you wound up here in the first place, and doing more of that isn't going to help.

Note: ---> If you seem to be dealing with another person in your life who displays these unfortunate qualities and habits, realize -- among other things -- how much his behavior triggers these qualities in you. Getting a handle on that and somehow breaking free or turning it around to a better expression is one very effective way to get out in front of this problem. Yet, it takes awareness. Yes, it takes work. Would you rather stay stuck where you are ... forever and always?

8 of Cups Rx = you've come to terms with the fact that "something is missing" from your life -- and you need to fix that ... whatever it takes, even if it means leaving "what's safe and familiar" behind (and it probably will.) This isn't something you can ignore any longer (look at your current state ... you'll see what I mean.)

It's time to "move on" -- whatever that means -- and build a new situation that's vital, exciting, productive, worthwhile, that "makes you happy." This decision -- and these new discoveries -- are part of the journey ... and they're part of your journey -- now.
