What Will My Alarm Say About Me?
By default, nights are for sleep, it's very difficult to break that rule, but it's also the moments most of us are free to build ourselves and prepare for what's ahead of us. Most people say "Nights are not for sleep but for battles." In order to stay in this fight we need external assistance, this where alarms come into play
Most times when I go to bed, I don't know what happens again until the next morning, sometimes I get so exhausted that I wish I could have all the time in the world to myself but you know that is not possible. Rest is very vital but too much of it is also a problem. I love sleep so much, but there are days I just have to turn my back on it.
There is this common saying among the youth "only the rich sleep", if you are still trying to find your way to the top, you are not supposed to be sleeping like those who are already there, unless you want to remain the way you are. So you see people looking for different means trying to stay awake in order to get what they need. But you know that no matter how much we try, we can't cheat nature, if you like to take pills to prevent yourself from sleeping, the day sleep will come upon you, it will be like an ambush.
Well, Thank God for alarms, it helps balance things. You can set your alarm, sleep for a while and when your time reaches, it will wake you up. Though it is not always reliable, one thing with humans is we are built to adapt to what we constantly practice, some of us have a very bad habit of snoozing our alarms and the truth is, if you continue snoozing them, it will become a habit and that may affect you sticking to alarms. Other times too much stress can also make you not notice your alarm.
If my alarm could talk, I am very sure it is going to say a lot of bad things about me. Previously I used to be very good at obeying my alarm but recently, all has changed, I am currently pro at pressing the snooze or stop button. It is just like the alarm used to ring at the wrong times. I don't know if it's just for me but it seemed to always ring when I am just trying to get some sleep or when the sleep is becoming sweeter.
I got so used to it that, I don't even know when it rings again, all my sensitivity towards the alarm has gone numb probably it's because i often set it on my phone, maybe if i had an alarm clock it would have been different. Alarms have not really been so helpful to me these days, and the fault is mine, I stopped giving it attention.
What works for me now is the priority attached to whatever thing I want to achieve, if it's something very important, I don't even need an alarm to wake me up or remind me. The consciousness of that very thing will make me restless until I fulfill it. Though I used to still put an alarm, they say "prevention is better than cure".
One of the biggest issues my alarm will emphasize is the less priority I place on it, I am sure it will say something like "This boy doesn't respect me at all even with my importance and tested results of helping men achieve their goals, he doesn't regard me anything, he listens to me only when he wanted to and he always comes back and says sorry, trying to bribe me to forgive him. This boy is a very big problem."
