Having a device with strong battery life is underrated. For someone living in an area where power supply can be unstable for weeks, I know how important it is to manage battery life wisely. Thankfully, I don’t have to worry too much. Once I charge my phone to 100%, I can go at least two days with my 5000mAh battery on minimum usage. Meanwhile, some people I know, their phones turn off at 30% or 40%, and it’s crazy to me because, at that same percentage, my phone is still more than enough to last a full day. I guess it all comes down to how each person uses their device.
For me, one of the biggest reasons my phone battery lasts longer is that I have a PC. I do about 80% of the things I would have done on my phone using my computer instead. During the weekdays, from Monday to Friday, I spend most of my hours at work, where the power supply is much more stable. I make my posts, study, and even chat on my PC, so my phone remains largely unused. The only thing I really use it for during the day is making calls, which doesn’t drain much battery. Since my phone is just sitting idle for most of the day, I don’t have to charge it multiple times.
The situation is quite different on weekends. I don’t go to work, so I rely more on my phone for entertainment, conversations, and other activities. That’s when my battery drains faster, which means I have to figure out ways to keep it running. A power bank comes in handy at times like this, especially after I’ve spent hours chatting, watching movies, or making posts. I prefer to charge my phone at night, once I’m done with everything for the day, so I can wake up to a full battery. That way, I don’t have to worry about running low when I need it the most.
One thing I always avoid is using my phone while charging. My phone’s temperature rises quickly when I do that, and it affects performance. Sometimes, my apps start glitching, especially when I’m using the internet. I’ve noticed that leaving my phone alone while charging not only keeps it cooler but also helps it charge faster. So, I make sure to plug it in when I know I won’t be needing it for a while.
I also have a few habits that help me save battery without even thinking about it. I’ve always preferred using dark mode on all my apps, mainly because it’s easier on my eyes, but I later realized it also saves battery. That made me even more committed to using it. Another thing I do is keep my screen brightness at the lowest level unless I’m outside. I don’t see the point of having my phone’s screen bright like a diamond when I can actually still see when it's in the dark mode. Notifications are another thing I control. I turn off most notifications except for the important ones. I don’t need my phone lighting up every few seconds over unnecessary alerts.
The way I see it, having control over my battery usage makes life easier. I don’t like dealing with low battery, and I get restless when my phone drops below 10%. There’s a certain satisfaction in knowing my device is fully charged and ready to last for hours. Some people don’t mind charging multiple times a day, but for me, I’d rather be smart about my usage and avoid unnecessary stress.
