Crypto has certainly changed the way we think about business. Conventional business usually requires that we invest our financial resources in order to qualify for returns on those investments. For crypto though, there are a wide variety of investment options that qualify us for the possibility of returns.
We can invest our time, effort, money or even attention and be rewarded. It seemed absurd at a time that free money would be handed out as a form of investing in the same project. Yet we have airdrops all over they space. Some of us here on Hive are even massive beneficiaries of those airdrops.
We sometimes act like there is a manual to follow when it comes to handling our personal finances but there isn't. Of course there are some universally accepted guides on how best to manage them, as well as some advanced guidelines. Notwithstanding, the onus rests on us to make the decisions on which way to go and how best to manage our resources.
Here on Hive talking about powering down seems like a taboo to the point where barely few ever mention it. Yet if we didn't power down periodically, a lot of us would wield significantly more Hive power. It is worth mentioning that there are actually no rules to how an individual chooses to spend their assets and it is left to us entirely in deciding which path is best suited for us to take.
The options for profiteering is either to reinvest or to pull it out. This is a universal principle that virtually everyone follows. When it is reinvested it allows the asset expand and possibly become more rewarding. Pulling out though is another form of satisfaction that allows us to spend and see the actual outcome of our investment. Quantity or the size of profits also play a major role in when and what we get to pull out.
Timing is Everything
Due to the dynamic nature of rewards on crypto there is always the sense of what is there to be lost whenever profits come into play. Becoming greedy may lead to regrets. Of course we can sell but it must be at a time when there is the satisfaction of having gained the kind of decent returns initially aspired.
For Hive the profit of rewards are continuous and in multiple folds. Powering down may not even make sense long term as there will be enough liquids and other rewards that come from building stake. It is a complex choice, and one certainly shouldn't be making decisions on a whim.
