A couple of days ago the leofinance team advertised for a job opening as they seek to expand and continue their drive towards mainstream adoption. While I was happy for the fact that a full time opening was available for a potentially lucky individual, I also had a sense of satisfaction from the simple knowledge that virtually everyone here is basically employed by the chain.

I mean we have often talked about the space and ability to create jobs serving as a major leverage for future adoption. It is a given that jobs would be a big part of what gives this place an edge even as automation gradually takes over most mainstream jobs available.

We would not need any formal employement letters, but would rather be more or less automatically employed by being stakeholders (participants, investors) in the chain. It is certainly an improvement from companies owned by stakeholders who provide absolutely no value to their customers. Here we have a relationship based on mutual trust and collective ownership.

That has its own risks but the rewards are great. If we do lose most of the jobs to automation, I am sure many people would be dissatisfied just sitting at home and being handed paychecks. We are builders by nature and will seek out ways to productive spend our time. What better way would be than growing/running a company collectively owned by the community that provides high value tasks for its consumers.

The Jobs of Now

Presently we are already starting to see things take shape as far as this central vision of the blockchain is concerned. Here on Hive we are able to actively participate in the community as content creators and be rewarded from our interactions within the community. It is amazing to imagine that we have sustained this for so many years now, even as more developments seeks to propel the space to maturity.

The provision of these high value tasks which provides potential rewards should take priority as we progress to the next stage of development. Hive is already leading the way as a chain, as every serious participant here has the opportunity to immerse themselves and become better content creators, investors, analysts, developers, sportspersons etcetera.

Edicted has previously talked about the incentivized learning potential of the space which is another avenue to be explored, particularly through an enjoyable channel like gaming (for most people at least).

Conclusion

I am sold on the chain replacing the jobs of the future, or at least providing a better alternative through the collective ownership model. To further walk this path though, we need a lot more innovation to circulate round the blockchain for which Hive is a forerunner.
